Through the limited testing, Did you feel the black was better for your swing (if you got aggressive) or you could step on both and they react the same?

Thru limited testing so far, I don't want to say either way honestly. The copper let me put easier and more aggressive swings on it with similar results. The black so far only responds best with more aggression from the top.

I really like to try the copperhead 60s, I have the green in 70tx and it's awesome! More of a s flex guy!

Very soon I'll have some.

agreed - Aldila nailed it. I have no clue what the price point will be for the copper but as long as it's reasonable - they'd be able to sell tons of them.

$400 when it hits. Still a long ways off for that.

You know I'm good for a copper 60 when you get them!

These shafts look amazing! The graphics on all of them are very well done. I'd love a shaft that I could step up and say it takes out one side of the fairway every time. No lefts ... perfect!

if the testing continues as it has -- I'd argue the black/KK DC XT more than the copper, no? so far I've been able to work the CH both ways...

As a good player I'm sure you can work anything both ways. My point is with a stock swing, it doesn't get loose and you can just point and fire, trusting the fade. The two best shafts for that imo.

Gio, did you have the Copper or Black tipped any during prep?

Any of the other testers thinking what I have been thinking? That this would make a killer 3 wood shaft?

Read. My. Mind.

Yes! Yes!

When I applied to test this shaft, the specific idea for me to test it was to put it into a 3w. I don't care for CB driver shafts, but do like them in a 3w. I've been testing the Green Mamba in the driver and LOVE it, and would love to try one out in a 3w, and thought the copper would be an even better fit. I don't want to cut the Mamba I do have, because then I wouldn't have a driver shaft anymore :(.

NEED MORE MAMBA IN MY LIFE! ;)

With this shaft in an Epic SZ, I am back to playing a fade, after two years of draws and hooks. Some of it was swing related, some of it was how other shafts were affecting the way I swung, but either way, these things are deadly consistent.

well, tried the Black exclusively today for a round. it either put a great swing on it and got really good results...or i put a crappy swing on it and posted a big number. shot 75 with two doubles and a triple. hit 13 greens, 6 fairways, 32 putts.

i did however on the last hole GPS a drive -- it was down wind, down hill...but it went 349y.

some more thoughts on the black after yesterday's round:

- I can work it both ways as long as I take a brief pause at the top before starting the transition.

- It appears for me to be lower spinning than the Copper (if only a little bit - I'm getting flightscope #'s today)

- The feel is different than the Copper unless you load it the proper way - then the smooth effortless release of the shaft comes back to life.

- I'm getting more comfortable with the shaft -- yielding better results. The two swings yesterday on holes 3 and 9 were not quality golf swings and with an open clubface, no driver shaft nor head combination will save you from spraying it right. those were faults of my own and not of the shaft. the rest of the round proved to be the real evidence. I hit driver at 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18.

The following 2nd shot yardages are what I had:

1 - 45y (into the wind)

3 - OB, 243y (it's a par 5)

4 - 113y (into the wind)

7 - 183y (downwind, 7:00)

9 - OB, 897 (L to R crosswind hurting, 10:00)

10 - 103y (downwind, 4:00)

11 - 82y (into the wind)

13 - 179y (into the wind, incredibly hard uphill 2nd shot)

15 - 243y (downwind 7:30-8:00)

17 - 139y (into the wind)

18 - 79y (downwind, 6:00; GPS lasered 349y drive, middle fairway)

Also, I know it shows I didn't hit many fairways HOWEVER...the re-tee at 3 and 9 put me in the middle of the fairway (when you put a good swing, magically it goes where you want it lol) -- and of all the others that missed, the furthest ball off the fairway was maybe 10' in the rough. I'm ok with that.

Nice work Gio. Looking forward to the FS data comparing the two. As of right now, which shaft are you going for if you had a big tournament tomorrow?

Copper*.

*having only played 27 holes with the black - I'm not ruling it out just yet, but I trust the copper since I've used it for multiple rounds already, including a tourney round.
