Someone will set the course record but that's mostly because it's in amazing shape. They've taken out a huge number of trees and have added some bridges in places that have changed the course slightly.

My buddy is one of the original 9 investors...it was $1M for the membership then. I think it is $250k initiation today.

 

I'm pretty sure it's less than 100k.

I was looking into becoming a member the other day and for a single 20 year old the initiation is 60k and 7k a year for dues. For a full membership the initiation is significantly higher and 14k a year on monthly dues

I have played 400+ golf course and been to another 200 or so covering golf on all the tours for Golf wrx and this is the best conditioned golf course I've ever seen. Better than Augusta National in my opinion and I've been to 15 Masters.

That's a resounding endorsement from someone who has max exposure. That's my home turf, but doubt I'll have a chance to play there.

 

Have you ever visited or played Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill, GA?

I have played 400+ golf course and been to another 200 or so covering golf on all the tours for Golf wrx and this is the best conditioned golf course I've ever seen. Better than Augusta National in my opinion and I've been to 15 Masters.

I vote for this place to get a regular TOUR stop somehow. WOW. Replace something, but this needs to be on the reg, PGA Tour!

 

The tournament infrastructure is very weak. Just no real room around the club, on club property to handle an event on a fulltime basis

 

Unfortunately this is true. The golf course is fantastic but was never built with designs of hosting an annual tournament. The roads in and out are small and even once in the club there is not much wasted space. The club has a 9 hole par 3 course that was pretty much over taken by parking, tents, trailers, etc. and will most likely have to have a lot of work done to fix it back up. I have had several friends from college(PGM program) who were asst. pro's there and have been fortunate to have been able to play this course about a dozen times. A great course, great layout and I enjoyed watching it hold its own against the best.

Couldn't agree more. On Friday when I was there, the crowds were lower due to the rain. I thought this is the right size crowd. You could never handle the huge crowds taht come with a major.
