OK you technology people...explain this...

My course never bothered to move the 100, 150, 200, 250 permanent plates in the fairway when the course was renovated quite a few years ago. Not many of the greens were moved very far but the plates are wrong.

The marked sprinkler heads came later and it was funny to see a sprinkler that says "241" right beside the "250" yellow plate.

Nowadays everyone has GPS/laser so our club replaces damaged or worn out sprinkler with unmarked one. I doubt more than 1/3 of the sprinkler have any yardage now.

I use both, the laser for line of sight and the gps on blind shots to the green. Best of both worlds.

I do the same but also use the GPS as a reference for the front or back of the green depending on pin placement. It always seems easier to hit a shot over a bunker to a 140 pin when you know the distance to the front of the green on the line you are taking is only about 125.

Curious to know how you gauge the distance from the center of the green to the daily pin location? Another reason for a laser, if your game requires (I use GPS).

Another suggestion is to look up (OK, Google) accuracy vs. precision.

I noticed that mine was off the other day, I have a Fenix 5x.. With some pacing around, It's center of the greens were off by a lot. I found some centers to be a foot on, some to the right or left... But hey, my +/- with a short iron more than makes up for the discrepancies.. :D

BTW, no issues the other times out..
