Rant: I suppose it happens to everyone eventually...

Recommended Posts

Rant of the Day:

Just got burned for the first time on eBay. Been a member for 10 years and have a 147 positive feedback score.

Recently listed an item for sale...was very careful to state that it had flaws/defects and was being sold as is, no refunds, no returns...

Buyer with (0) feedback purchase it for Buy It Now price, issues payment, and it's delivered today... He instantly issues negative feedback and issues a refund request.

Now the money will be held additional time while eBay reviews the claim.

I've been on eBay for over 10 years with over a 1100 feedback, all 100% positive.

Then last year this clown of a woman gave me a negative because she was not competent enough to use the electronics item I sold, claiming it was faulty. Load of old rubbish. She refused to return item, got a refund and eBay wouldn't remove negative comment.

It's a buyers market and sellers are easily abused.

I knew i should have avoided this women when she contacted me prior to purchase asking questions about the product. Her stinking attutude and rudeness was evident from the beginning.

That's exactly what happened to me Matt.

The item was a camera, and I very distinctly stated in three parts of the listing that it was "untested, without batteries, cables, or lens...body only...for parts or repair". Not to mention I listed the item as "Sold As Is, no refunds, or returns." I should have known it would be an issue, when I noticed the buyer had 0 feedback.

It arrives at buyers address at 5:15pm, at 5:25pm he files the return/refund claim.

The thing that pissed me off was his comment on the feedback and refund request... "I can't use this camera...it's too old...it didn't even come with a lense...there isn't even any for sale on the market..." Like, did you look at none of the photos, where I never showed a lens? Did you not read the title that said "Body only, for parts or repair..."? How about either the condition description or the item description that stated the flaws it had?

Oh and BTW Mr. Buyer, they absolutely still make lenses that utilize the Sigma SA mount...ohh and there is only about 40+ for sale at the moment on eBay.

It was all just a load of BS, and I felt like it was an obvious scam to try to defraud. I wrote eBay in my comments and said, "if the buyer returns this item, I'm likely to get back a box with a brick in it, rather than the item."

I sold a cell phone 10 years ago and the buyer claimed her account was used fraudulently to buy the phone. Even though I shipped to her verified address and she even said it was HER OWN SON that purchased it, just with out her permission, and they had the phone in possession, they still sided with her, did not make her return it and I was out $300.

I also sold a Paradigm center channel speaker. Im my pictures I laid a tape measure down to show all dimensions, had CLEAR pictures of the sticker showing model number. Some guy buys it and states I miss represented it. eBay asked him to send pictures and sure enough they 100% matched what I listed. When they sided with me he then said it was now damaged and it didnt work.....they reversed and sided with him and I got a speaker sent back he GUTTED the inside of.

I ONLY buy on eBay. Place is a sham

That is a rough deal for sure. The majority of my feedback score is from purchases, but I have successfully sold about 20 items now (mostly golf clubs and golf paraphernalia), and this is the only one that I've had an issue with.

For those that are curious, here is the exact item description:

"This camera is untested. It does not include batteries, a lens, a storage card, or any associated cables. This camera does show flaws on its IR filter coating on its dust cover. It also has a flaw on its interior viewfinder grid.

I am not a Camera Repair Specialist or Technician. I can neither certify that this camera is in working order or disrepair. I simply purchased it out of interest. It wasn't until after I purchased it that I discovered the two noticeable flaws it has. The viewfinder has a small mark on its internal grid that impedes the field of view when looking through the viewfinder. The IR filter coating on the dust cover glass has a defect which may or may not cause a defect in images. I would assume that both of these pieces are easily replaced, but I have not confirmed this with a qualified technician. I was also unwilling to invest in purchasing two of the CR-V3 batteries this camera takes, just to see if it powered on and was functioning.

Please understand that all comments concerning the condition of the camera body are just my own opinions, and that I do not have any kind of certification or training in camera repair. Please review the photos provided for a better understanding of the flaws and the camera's general condition. Please make an educated decision prior to purchase.

No Refunds, No Returns, and all Sales are Final with the understanding that the item is SOLD AS-IS.

Thank you."

Yep, new eBay policies allow the buyers to "Bill Cosby" the sellers for sure. I never sell on there anymore, only on here.

I've had 2 instances where I sold clubs only to have people respond back with saying I misrepresented the clubs, here they are:

1 - Sold a G20 (I think) driver with a Matrix 7m2 shaft. If you remember these shafts, they don't specifically say the shaft flex on the graphics but its a CPM under the butt of the shaft. Well said I said it was a stiff, but the club was a regular flex, it wasn't... Well fought it tooth and nail, eBay sided with them and sent it back, and the club was beat to hell. Looked like he hit 250 balls with it for the 3 days he had it. Club was sold at a 9/10 and it was returned at a 6.5/10...

2 - Sold a KuroKage with a G25 adapter on it. Guy got it said everything was great, but he didn't think the adapter was a legit Ping one so he wanted to get a partial refund (which don't get me started on this, this allows buys to basically hold the sellers hostage on anythign, its the worst thing eBay has ever done and is a cancer on the site). I said "nope just send it back if you don't want it" and he replied about how much he still wanted the shaft, but doesn't trust the adapter so he'd need to buy a new one and then have his club guy fix it so he wanted $50 back (sold for $100). He refused to send the shaft back and just threatened me with negative feedback. I said you go right ahead and leave negative feedback or send me the shaft back and then told him off really well in an email. Negative feedback.

Its a total travesty to try to sell on there anymore.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
