I have the UTX right now. I like them but they were a big difference from the MCC4s. Definitely some good cord on there.

 

Bought them bc Lamkin was selling them for $3 a piece and the GPs were 3x that.

I like the UTx cords. I don't like them as much as Tour velvet full cords but they also aren't as expensive. And when you are ballin' on a budget, price matters.

 

 

In all seriousness, I don't think the UTx has as much cord as the NDMC. Does that matter? Not to me. When Lamkin runs the special on the UTx, it is definitely the best deal on full cord grips.

 

 

As long as you aren't in love with #datsquishy under your right hand, you'll be happy with the UTx.

I gotta admit its one of those things I really don't think I care about. I'm not going to unfollow people I like reading because some sampling determines they have an arbitrarily high number of "fake" followers. Seems like something he's really fired up about though.

 

I know at least on the gram I get autofollowed by people using programs or bots that track particular hashtags - no idea how it works on Twitter but I assume the same types of programs exist. I can only imagine if you work for Golf Digest, that probably happens a lot. Does that necessarily mean these people are buying their fake followers - or they just don't take the time to weed them out every day. I cant imagine doing that either. But when you use the word "fraud", that's a pretty strong statement.

I don't understand how Noren was so calm. Four minutes ten seconds to talk about a shot - and then he decided to lay up anyway. He said he took so long because he was trying to win but he was down two and laid up.

I hit the Rogue and Rogue X - pretty good stuff. I actually think the X 4i would make a good driving iron for people who want a little more of a topline.

 

And IMO the 4 would be pretty easy for people to hit off the turf too.

I have only seen them for a short period of time but a few demoes in Feb then full on season, so Ill get to mess around with them.

 

Might be something I look at or regular one because my long irons have turn into garbage. Hopefully my lesson this week shows what the heck is going on.

Don't know if anyone saw this, but the Times did a huge "expose", if you will, on "follow factories" this weekend.

 

There is definitely a huge rash of buying followers. Some of it is more problematic because they'll actively spoof others' accounts. I.e, they'll make a "TheC1tyGame" account with the same avatar. Some of that behavior is actually criminal and the NYS AG has opened a case against one of the companies that does it.

Now, what Tron was saying was that he acknowledges that there are auto-bots, but the Golf Digest people had a ton of them, and people like Shane Bacon and others didn't. The implication (but not proof) being that they must have paid for them. I don't know if it ever really gets to "fraud", but it is phony.

 

In the NYT article, they indicate that people and their agents/reps definitely buy followers. Again, I don't know if that applies to the people Tron called out.

So NLU is saying that popular people on social media - famous or otherwise - may not be 100% truthful. Wouldn't most people assume this is true to some degree?

 

Honest question, would it stop you (not you-you) from following someone you enjoyed following? And I guess the follow up - or maybe the first question would be - are you going to check on every person you read to first see how many "real" followers they have before you follow them?

It was a clear violation of rules. I really don't understand what was happening there. I guess he was frozen like a deer in headlights. Again, he was slow all day, and especially on the back 9.

 

Tiger. Nice playing. He needs to get the tee game about 50% better to contend. His short game was as good as ever. Ball striking was below standard. Was nice to see him out there. I do think he has a reasonable chance at Augusta because you can drive it all over the place, and he won't need driver on a lot of those holes. He will have to be better with his mid irons, though. He's at Rivieria next, yeah? That course will require some accuracy off of the tee.

I got a kick when they turned it over to Golf Channel for the playoff, and not even 1 minute in Jim Nantz starts talking about how excrutiating that slow play was. If there ever was an impetus for PGA Tour golf to get serious about it, delaying the Grammys on CBS, with its $1 million dollar TV commercial slots would probably be it.
