Must be something we're not understanding. My golf shoes are scattered about my garage with a pair or two in my car's trunk. I keep a CVS drawstring bag in the trunk and throw the shoes in there if they are covered in grass. I've never had a need to transport my shoes in their own bag someplace.

 

My wife had taken to buying reusable grocery bags when we go on vacation. Great functional souvenirs.

String bags work GREAT for me and can be had for free, sometimes. I have a couple from a customer of mine who gives them out at trade shows. The two different colors differentiate at a glance which shoes are in each bag.

I use the Nike departure bags. Keeps the shoes away from my dog and my kid and anything my wife may knock over or spill in the garage. Plus they’re padded and ventilated. Would much rather knock the grass out of the bag versus sweeping it out of my garage or vacuuming out of my trunk. I get them on the bay for like $25 ish when I need one.
