Yeah 9 holes- 11 greens and a few different tee boxes....always in great condition... i can get there in 5 mins..they have no tee times and no walking restrictions....shoot me a message whenever you want to get out.

I've played Merchantville twice now and live like 5 min away, first time was in a GAP match this year (I'm a member at Woodcrest)... I'll go out there anytime, I liked it... the pro is a good guy, he let us out for 25 bucks and I know a few members there.

I believe I heard this is one of 10 oldest courses in states, anyhow...after growing up in this area, I would love to play there as well, and as mentioned my course is Little Mill being you are familiar with area, and would go round for round if interested...cheers

Sounds like a plan.

 

Merchantville was established in 1892, so it's definitely one of the older ones. Nearby Moorestown Field Club also started in 1892, so that has to be in the mix for one of the older ones too. Atlantic City Country Club was 1897.

 

Philadelphia-born Johnny McDermott was the first American born player to win the US Open in 1911 and was head pro at Merchantville before heading down to Atlantic City.

 

So there's some neat history.

We actually grabbed a lot of your members during their transition a few years back, but WC is still very nice....as for PV we have a few members that belong there as well. I’ll introduce you if ever get to play a round. Truly great people.

I imagine Woodcrest will get back to fully private at some point. It seems to be doing well. Great course.

 

I looked into joining, but they said walking is prohibited on weekend mornings (if I recall correctly, before 11 am). I've walked literally every round I've played at Merchantville, so that was a deal breaker for me.

 

Not that I wouldn't ride on a get-together, I just prefer to walk day-to-day.

I have been playing here for 20 years. There is never a wait. They have a 80 yard pitching/chipping "range".

September they are doing a member guest promotion for new membership, the rate has been dropped to $55 to walk or ride if anyone wants to get out. Weekday or Weekend
