It's an Otey Crisman putter. The one you have looks like an older model. They were very good mallet style putters and popular on tour. I believe they began business in the late 1940's or early '50's and are still in business today. I remember our pro shop had a couple of them that I would try out on the practice green around '67 and '68. They were quality putters and the brass insert gave it a really soft feel.

GGardener-

You have an early model Otey Crisman 12 HB putter.

You can read each of the stampings-

The "Otey Crisman" signature stamp, the Selma, ALA stamp, and the 12 HB stamp H for hickory shaft- B for Brass insert with the Aluminum head.

The "OC" stamp in the center of the brass putterface, along with the Gold "It's an Otey" shaft label, help to identify this 1930s model.

Sadly, the Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG) does not allow the use of these putters, as these models were started after their 1935 cut-off year.

Someone responded to my inquiry on Golfwrx a few years ago on this.

And...Yes, Otey Crisman III works with Tad Moore in Selma, AL.

But then again the SOHG allows reproduction Hickory clubs or is that another group?

Corrct, Stu. But they have to be authenticated by a Committee.

To the best of my knowledge, (I am no longer a member), Otey Crisman putters haven't passed muster, or maybe they were never submitted.

I have several of the Otey putters. They are actually quite good and, as Steele47 said, fun to pull out when playing with new folks.

All Forged, all the time.

LOL Sounds like the USGA to me--- Me I will on occasion throw the few hickories I have along with some old pyratone sticks and play the little executive course up the street--- I was almost persuaded one time to try the hickory association route but sounded too much like trying to qualify for a USGA event so I scrubbed that idea right fast just like I did with getting my Amateur status and playing some Carolinas Golf Association events. I just do my own thing with like minded folks and I am having fun

Come on Stu, we need some more boys from “South of the Boarder” to head up North (Carolina) way that is, to play with the CHGA. You would love it. The guys are an absolutel blessing to play a round of golf with, and the prices for playing are way more reasonable than anything I’ve found around Chucktowne when I play with the Palmetto Seniors group.

There are a couple of guys that can hook you up with a playing set if you wanted to go give it a whirl. Give me a shout and I’ll tell you more about the next event if you’re interested.

OK we will see. Right now I am having a blast playing the 54 Precisions and the week before last a generous fellow WRXer sent me a full set of pristine FC 4000 Macs and I mean complete with woods and all. I have hit them on the range and they hit great. Man I have so many good hitting sets of irons my biggest decision on Friday night is not where we are playing (Bear and Checkers make the tee times anyhow) but what irons or combo of irons I am playing. I may play the FC irons this weekend

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
