Definitely feels like he's been the best player in the world for a large part of the last year, but maybe not the past few weeks. We'll see how long he can hold on... feels like it could be anywhere from one week to a year+

A real sham. ( pun intended ). Just not a fan of his game at all. And I don't think head to headhe beats Spieth , dj , Rahm or even phil more often than not. But the world rankings are not setup that way. So I guess he can have his " turn" until someone else wins again.

Just look at the choke job vs Phil in Mexico. He holes the fairway shot on 18 to get into playoff. The watches phil come in. Visibly looks sick as he sees phil make the par putt. Then can't hit the green with a gap wedge. Flubs the chip and doesn't hit the hole with the putt. Phil wins on short par 3 with a par. Pretty huge choke. Not something you usually associate with #1 at anything.

Totally, I mean there was a time when he was in high school, before he made the cut at Tour event in the 10th grade, where he flubbed two chips in a row if you can believe that. Granted he still shot a 69 but definitely not something I'd associate with #1 at anything.

That guy that he choked against in my example. He WON a tour event in college. And he never reached #1. So how does your example help the argument ?

JT should have been #1 months ago.

I would agree with that ( see progress !)....It would be much harder for me to argue against him had he been crowned while playing well ... He could have had his turn and lost it back by now.
Isn't that more of a Dustin Johnson issue than a JT issue?

How so. Dj got it while playing great. And lost it whoops playin bad. Jt didn’t get it until dj played bad ... What you mean ?

I’m no OWGR expert but JT going to number one looks like it was due to DJ’s 59th place finish at the WGC. Even if you do nothing guys can backup around you is what I meant. Frankly, they have both played great for quite awhile now.
