London-Sandwich Trip Nov 11 - 15

Trying to fit in a last minute trip before the year is over. If I come it will be as a single flying in Sunday morning and leave Thursday.

 

Noticed the Prince's Golf Club has a 2 night package that includes accommodations, breakfast, 1 dinner and 3 rounds of golf:

I have also emailed Swinley Forest GC to see if I can get on there. Might send a note to Walton Heath and/or Sunningdale, but dont want to jump the gun as this is just tentative right now.

 

Any recommendations on courses to swap.

 

Would you rent a vehicle or just train it to Sandwich? I am coming solely to golf, so it will be golf, eat, drink and repeat for a couple of days. Any local pubs or meals at clubs that are must would be appreciated. If anyone is in the area and might be able to connect for a round that would be great as well.

I just tried to book the Princes (2 rounds @ accomodation for £109) deal; last week for 28th March 2019. All full. I'd guess that's booked up well in advance. Can't tell you on the 3 course Tour you mention - but man that would be awesome. I've played the other two and those three together would be a fabulous few days golf......

I just tried to book the Princes (2 rounds @ accomodation for £109) deal; last week for 28th March 2019. All full. I'd guess that's booked up well in advance. Can't tell you on the 3 course Tour you mention - but man that would be awesome. I've played the other two and those three together would be a fabulous few days golf......

I just sent them an email on availability, so maybe it is sold out. It's a 3 day winter package that they offer (https://www.princesgolfclub.co.uk/media/view/2018/10/3_open_venues_in_3_days_winter_2__869.pdf) hoping that there is some availability still.

I got an email from Prince’s saying they don’t have any availability as there a competition. Both Royal’s show tee times so I might just put together my own package and play a couple more heathland courses.

Princes have a minibus that will collect you from the train station if you ask them.

 

All three are great courses, with RSG being by far the best. Princes recently redesigned one of their 9 hole loops, and it has gone from being the easiest of the three to the toughest by far.

Royal St. George's has availability through until the end of the year; Royal Cinque Ports will do too. Prince's normally have some, but their hotel (Prince's Lodge) may be fully occupied.

 

If you wanted to just play the Royal's, you can stay in Sandwich or Deal and have a great time in their selection of pubs and restaurants - Royal St. George's telephone number is 01304 613090 (option 1).

 

Tandridge is a good place to play too, it's about halfway between London and the Kent coast so a decent stop of on the way to or from Sandwich.
