There was also one in the UK which has vanished (i.e. it's not listed/searchable now as completed or sold). To me, this implies that Ping intervened and took them down.

 

I'll say it again, if anyone at Ping reads these threads - if there has been a move towards putter lines for the public and a separate range for the pros which are not sold to the public (just glimpsed on Twitter, etc.), this is deeply depressing and a betrayal of the principles of high quality golf equipment for all which the company has always traded on.

Wow, haven't seen a smooth faced putter for ages.

 

I can't think of the last line Ping released with a smooth face. G2 maybe?

Nova, I'm with you on the horizontal grooves - I have an Anser Milled that I've gamed since the fall of 2011, and I recently went and tried all the available milled putters out there. I was hard-pressed to find one I liked more, and will invest in fitting it to my stroke (length, lie, etc) to a greater degree.

Putter "Face Tech" is for marketing hype and FBI Golf Spy vacuum tests that go into the test only looking to confirm evidence of a claim.

 

That said, Ping needs to offer these to the masses. Very un ping like and highly annoying.

I agree 100%, it’s been six months since the first post of this thread and nothing from Ping. If there ever was a time to release these would be now.

That tyne putter though! It IS interesting re: the naked face. I wonder how it impacts feel vs deep milling or fancy insert thingymabobs. Ping could release these as a limited run and have people begging to buy it.

I’m in on both the Anser and the Tyne should they ever become available. Picked up the Bruzer just to get close, but don’t love it.

After inspecting it and putting with it on the indoor green, it’s the putter that every PING Sigma G/Sigma 2 Tyne wishes it was.
