How to handle elitist golfers..

Personally, I love playing with folks with high handicaps. They are always looking for advice, and I love giving it. I know I shouldn't, but I love teaching golf. It also helps me remember simple fundamentals that help my game as well. And if I play with someone better than me, I'm not above accepting advice either. I've run into a couple of jerks, but never in my flight. But then again I'm built like a caveman, so they usually back off once they see I am not pleased, smile and shake hands.

 

I love playing with women. Especially the younger women out to just have fun and not keeping score. They're horrible, but I do have a way of standing on the green and telling them to hit it right at me. Sometimes they do, and I'll catch it and toss the ball towards the hole. Afterwards I'll always tell them, "Great shot, couldn't have done it better myself." My girlfriend will even have me stand on the green on her approach shots just to watch me do this with her and her friends.

 

It's all in good fun, and I'm the only one usually keeping score for myself.

I can't beleive that I even know this, but didn't Jackie Mason replace Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack II. I don't think that any actors from the original were in the second.

Yup! Jackie was terrible and that movie was terrible. One of the worst sequels ever!

Their behavior has nothing to do with golf. Jerks are jerks in all aspects of their lives, IMO. If they weren't busy jerking you around on a golf course, they'd be making life miserable for someone somewhere else.

 

Not much you can do about. Just don't get down on their level, grin and bear it as best you can.

Taking the High road, you should have bought them some beer while they were getting lunch in the snack shack. That $6.00 pitcher of beer is worth about 1,000,000 "Good Karma" Points. (or...... you could spit into it before you placed it on their table which is worth about 1,000,000 feel better points).....JMO

IMO, the only two good scenes in that movie were:

1. When Dan Ackroyd said to Robert Stack, "I'll terminate him with extreme prejudice.", and Stack replied, "We already tried that. It didn't work."
   
2. Jackie Mason using the Dustbuster to clean his line for a putt.
