First time trip to Ireland or Scotland, where do you go?

Just wanted to update the thread about what we've decided on. We will be flying out of NY on a Saturday night and landing in Shannon early Sunday morning. The plan is to play Galway Bay late Sunday morning and then head to Enniscrone, which will be our base for three nights. Day two we will play Enniscrone and do some sightseeing . Day three its off to the Carne rollercoaster and back to Enniscrone for a well earned seaweed bath. Day four we head to County Sligo in the morning. We'll stay in Sligo for two nights. The next day we are off to play the Faldo Course at Lough Erne and possibly a twilight round at Donegal. Day six we play Strandhill in the morning and then head back to Clare. Depending on how we feel, we may pick up a twilight round at Dromoland Castle or just our last pints in Ennis. Day seven we head back to the states.

The only thing I would say is to put in Connemara as your first stop rather than Galway Bay. CM is a brilliant but tough links course designed by Eddie Hackett. Its location is quite unique and very close to Westport. Not expensive either.

I'm actually playing Connemara on September 6th while I'm in Ireland with my wife. If I fall in love (which is quite possible), it could be added in for next years trip.
