The European Tour returns to the iconic city of Prague this week for the sixth edition of the D+D Real Czech Masters.

Nice to see Thomas Pieters doing well. He appears to have all the tools but is underachieving, still only 27 years old so time isn't an issue.

Thomas has the lead going in to the final round. His last solo win was the Made in Denmark three years ago. His victory in this event was his first on the European Tour in 2015.

 

Edoardo Molnari actually has the more recent win, it came in Morocco in 2017. It's great to see the former US Amateur champion playing better.

 

Robert Karlsson turns 50 in 17 days. His last win was the European Tour Championship in 2010.

 

Should be a great finish with Arnaus and Van Rooyen still lurking about.

Crazy to think that Pieters has not won in so long. He looked like he took a huge step up at the 2016 Ryder Cup but he has pretty much floundered since then. It would be nice to see him getting back in the winners circle.

Hopefully, this is the start of big things for him as we move toward the heart of the European Tour schedule.

It was more like a full swing yips. He could not start the swing. Because of that he WD from the 2012 US Open, decided he could not play like that.

He has battled a lot of mental competition issues over the years. Could have won many more, choked down the stretch. Got stronger in the 2000-s obviously, won the ET. Mental coaches way up in the north.

 

Saw Karlsson last time the Scandinavian Masters was played in the Stockholm area, like 4 ys ago. Still the most handsome character in the field and a huge fellow without looking abnormal.

Deeply and boringly hetero I am. But that guy is very well preserved. Was a photo model in younger days. If anything I am jealous. Wrinkles and waist line measurements have hit me harder. Granted, he probably do not remember Armstrong on the moon. Or the day when our fathers had to start driving on the right side of the road.
