Classic club players/collectors, is your collection focused?

Sucks to see people breaking up sets.   Sometimes it can be financially better for seller but as a collector I hate to see .

I know what you mean. Although there were no pictures of serial numbers to check whether they were sets or not, the Tour Models all had the same shafts, same inserts, and same head colour and paint fill, and likewise for the Classics. All pristine.

Now each club sold for around $200US; I can only wonder if each set would have fetched over $600US. 

What I can say is that I would love to have either set in my bag as the shafts were just what I like. I put some bids in, but $200US and more is too much for a club that I intend to play when I've already got other great persimmon woods I can use.

I just left FB for good.  I do miss the Persimmon Golf Society and the membership there.  Terrific people and a great collection of outstanding woods.

The Persimmon group on FB is a tremendous group of collectors who all have the passion for persimmon woods.  The camaraderie there is terrific, one of the few things I miss about FB.  There is another social media site called MeWe that doesn't collect data for whatever purpose.  I have joined and created a persimmon wood group that is invitation only.  I hope others will join there and create a terrific group much like the FB group.  Anyone interested in joining MeWe and becoming part of the Persimmon Wood Group send me a PM.

I’m afraid to join any social network sites at this point, just too much nonsense going on.   I hope your MeWe group works out.    I’d love to see a forum dedicated to classics and even tried starting one on my website but it doesn’t work unless you can drive traffic to it.

It's a good site.  I belong and have posted several times.  Some terrific examples of persimmon on there.  

If we could get the people I’d be interested in building it out with a more robust forum software.   I was hoping to make a persimmon era golf meeting place without having to resort to Facebook.  I sent out invites to many of the regulars here when this forum was undergoing changes but only a few joined and participated.

Is the Club restoration section your work (I mean, you doing the restoration)? From what I've seen on this site, I'm interested, but there are certain logistics problems I need to consider. Probably end up costing an arm and a leg just in shipping. And that's before I mention that the clubs I am thinking about getting repaired are on the other side of the world right now in lockdown Britain🥴

Yes, that is my work shown in the club restoration section.   I’m in California so shipping might be a bit cost prohibitive but send me a message if you’d like to discuss further, I’d be glad to help you out.

I will, but don't expect anything too soon. I have a couple of woods in the UK that I'd really like to get reshafted and redone, but I've no idea when I'll be able to go back there due to the pandemic.
