Seeking info and reviews on Titleist 690.MB irons

Know your miss, practice until you know the clubs and yardages and they are the same as any older blade, just better looking than most newer. Had a set but friend wanted them so gave them to him, but the .CB's aren't going anywhere, very solid cb. From time to time I try and find 7-P in the .MB to make a split set. Would likely become my gamer if/when that happens.

... I know this is WRX, home of the amazing MB's that magically perform in mid to high index players hands and one MB is much more forgiving or provides superior performance compared to another. But a blade is a blade is a blade. They take center contact and a consistent swing to perform. While I admit some modern MB's have a longer heel to toe length providing a hair more forgiveness and some have more weight low in the head providing a little forgiveness for slightly thin hits, unless you are going back to much older MB's, they are pretty similar.

... I played quite a few MB's including Apex 99's, Nike Forged, MP33's, Titleist 681's and Cleveland TA1's but my favorites were the 690.MB's. Like modern MB's a little longer heel to toe with a perfect shape for my eye at address. They had a middle of the pack feel, not as soft as MP33's and not as crisp as the Apex 99's, so a nice compromise. They are one of several sets (including Z101's) I regret selling and after years of use I would have just re-chromed them. I picked up some Z Forged this year and think they are striking in the looks department but for me, the classic look of the 690.MB is really hard to beat. This is obviously personal opinion and ymmv of course.

I'd say COG tuning has contributed to the forgiveness of the modern blade..

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
