Anyone have a Seamus Fescue Project baag? If so, thoughts on it? I really want a Sunday bag. Been looking at Jones, Mac and a few others. I can't find anything On Seamus bags.

I have 3 of them. I absolutely love them. Very light. I carry 14 clubs and they get in and out easily. The top leather pocket is perfect for a laser. The bags are very well made.

Love mine! Super minimal, only the things you need and nothing you don’t.

 

Might look into a Mackenzie strap at some point.

I did hear that the strap isn't the best with Seamus.

It’s my favorite of my 3 Seamus bags. Extremely well made and very unique. I have a Jones bags original, Jones player series, Mackenzie original and Sunday. I prefer the Seamus to all of them. I think the strap is just perfect. The bag is so light and small that I wouldn’t want a thicker strap.

I just realized I might have a slight golf bag addiction.

The strap is by no means a deal breaker, I just thought it would be an interesting experiment. My concern would be that it might affect the balance somehow. All in all, I love my Fescue.

I love mine. I never carry 14 clubs when I use it; closer to 8 or 10. For the most part, the opening is fine, but my putter grip (mid slim super stroke 2.0) can be a (small) issue from time to time. I agree with other posters regarding the strap. I do wish there was a little more to it, but in no way is it a deal breaker.

The weight of the bag is awesome. I've used the bag in damp conditions and the waxed canvas holds up great.

One last thing to think about is which shoulder you carry your bag on. I have the harris tweed bag and the material feels slightly "off" when i carry the bag with my left shoulder, which is the shoulder i have always carried my hockey bag on. I try to carry the bag with my right shoulder as often as I remember.curious- how would you add the new strap? would you send it out to seamus or have a local tailor try to connect it? Just wondering since the strap is sewn directly to the bag

I was going to have a local tailor add a d ring at the top of the bag, probably need one at the bottom too. Just a thought at this point. Honestly, the bag is solid the way it is.

If I decide to experiment I’ll likely go all in and get a Mackenzie walker.

I’ve got a fescue also. I don’t use it as my regular bag, but when I want to get out and walk on occasion it’s very nice. I’ve always had 14 clubs and tangle is no worse compared to my stand bags (and I use midsize leather grips with extra wraps). The clubs all just lay on top of each other very nice.

I also have been thinking about getting a couple D rings to add - top/bottom of the strap to do a swap for a Mac, and maybe one more on the side to clip on a carabiner to hang a small pouch for extra storage.

Also have some scrap mahogany that I ripped some strips to make trestle sticks. Need to decide if I’ll go cradle style or the standard ? style.

Those bags look beautiful and have been eying up for some time now. No issues when course is wet laying the bag down? Seen Titleist sunday bag with pegs or something on it to keep it somewhat off the ground but not sure if it does anything. I think I'm going Seamus. I love to walk my course after work and just play 9 so this would be fantastic.

No issues. I wouldn’t drop it in the mud or anything to purposely get it dirty, but waxed canvas good stuff for water protection. Like a boat cover if you’re familiar.

Just wanted to join in the praise for these bags! Been using mine throughout a wet UK winter and the waxed canvas is great, strap very comfortable as is. Only carry 8 clubs and no fat putter grips but it takes everything I need for a full round including a sandwich and a flask of coffee!

sorry this might be a stupid question but i am wondering why the trend or fashionable to use a pencil bag or sunday golf bag with no stands ? isn't it more hassle to having to bend down to put your bag down and picking up every shot ?

I don't use one often, but I would think the main reason people use a bag like this is history and simplicity. Back to the heritage of the game.
