What kind of golf cart should i get?

A lifelong goal is about to come to fruition! I'm about to get my first golf cart. I would love to hear from those of you who have an opinion on this. Locally, I can basically choose from Club Car, Yamaha, and EZ Go.

For reference, i am moving to a country club community, and everyone has carts. They are allowed on the streets, and i will likely haul the kids around periodically. 90% of the usage will be on the golf course though.

What do you guys think i should buy and why?

I’d definitely get a gas cart. Yamaha or EZ-GO are both quality brands.

Does the club have a cart maintenance facility onsite? If so, I'd recommend buying whatever their preferred brand is. Makes repairs and maintenance much simpler for you.

Personally I have a Yamaha, and love it. But I knew I liked Yamaha before we bought ours.

I have an ez-go love the no parking brake on the ezgo. Either ezgo or club car is good both will be easy to get parts. Look for a local place that fixes up fleet carts you can usually get a good one with extras for a lot less.

Yamaha Drive2 quietech.

I’ve owned numerous carts of most brands or used my friends and nothing comes close to this cart.

It’s not much louder than an electric and is fantastic in every way.

Check around on pricing I saved over $2,000 by driving a little.

 

If you for some reason can’t get or don’t want a Yamaha go club car. I’d strongly advise against EZGO. Every one I’ve owned and every one my friends have owned have had troubles. They have neat features but just aren’t that well built.

if you want a cart, a push cart is as baller as it gets imho. i like my 4-wheel clicgear.

I'm starting to look for a cart (currently have a loaner from the club for COVID reasons... likely going to need to buy one for the kids when it gets taken back)...

I've just started digging into the market, but I think I"m going to go electric, as I don't need the range of gas and will be parking in a garage where it's easy to recharge.... Electric should also have less parts to maintain and I don't have to mess with things like oil changes or getting gas into the tank.

I think I want something with Lithium batteries, as I believe they have a longer life and make the cart faster... I'll probably get one with rear facing seats for the kids. My biggest problem is I don't have the garage space for my car and the cart... not a big deal during the summer, but will be annoying in the winter... Working on that aspect.

Club Car and buy the four seat Onward.

Check first with your club to see if they require a certain type of cart and color. And if you have kids or kids, consider the four seater. They are great for letting the kids take it to the pool or just ride around with a small group at night.

Get a gas cart if that is permitted. I have a Yamaha at my club and an EZ-GO Terrain at home. Both are fine machines. I might give the slight edge to EZ-GO with the Kawasaki engine.
