While Augusta would be the ideal choice, realistically it is not going to happen. I would have to say Pebble Beach and Bandon Dunes are definite musts before I hang my clubs up forever!

That is a difficult question, there are so many courses on my "must play list".

 

I would have to say Augusta would be the one, i am trying every angle i have to get on, i am playing East Lake in the spring, so maybe i will get lucky and get the Augusta hook-up.

It is pretty easy to get on Muirfield, so long as there are times available. The website of the golf club allows availability checks. Times for summer 2006 have booked up pretty well. There are a few left, though. April and October are pretty clear.

To get there, fly to Edinburgh Airport. You can stay in Edinburgh or out closer to Muirfield which is about 30 minutes by car. Plenty of good golf in these parts, including Gullane (several courses) and Archerfield, a new private exclusive course. I have it on good authority that if you contact Archerfield and ask for a game, they may well let you on.

I was lucky enough to get a buggy to look round Archerfield (didn't get to play :tongue: ). It really is something quite special as are many of the courses around. One of the best areas for a golfing holiday. I would love to play Pebble Beach. Unfortunately at £425 a round I will most likely not get the chance.

My choice of which course would be any course with the slowest rate of play, and a marshall who is lazy, and not trying very hard to speed up the pace of play. :tongue:

I'm hoping to play Pine Valley this summer.

 

After that I would say that Augusta would have to top the list. St Andrews would be a bit behind there. I walked the course with Tiger's group @ the 2000 Open Championship, but have never teed it up there.
