6C1LAG0UID1C.jpegBased on same shaft a TourAD XC7X and 10.5* loft standard neutral setting. Carry and total distance in meters with medium firm fairway.

The most noticeable difference is spin numbers as measured by GCQuad

SIM max being 500rpm more on average.

I played around on the range with the Max yesterday. Was hitting a slight fade with good trajectory. Decided to move it one setting counter clockwise from standard (close face 1.5 deg, increase loft .75, increase spin 150). Two noticeable results. First, it did remove the slight cut - very straight ball. Second, even though it says the loft increased .75, the real trajectory seemed consistently lower. No idea how to explain that. Overall, it felt really good. Did not have trackman available to see quantified differences. Currently playing an Epic Flash. Higher ball flight with the Epic. Both are good clubs. Have not been a TM fan since the R9 supertri. This could bring me back.

Hit the SIM and SIM MAX side by side with the same shaft and settings. SIM is just sometime too low spin for me, especially hitting a draw. The MAX is more consistent and stable, and the spin is more controlled for either the draw or fade (even hit a cut, the spin is still pretty good, rather than jumping into 3000s).

Have been playing MAX for a few rounds, great forgiveness and solid distance. definitely longer than my M6 (same shaft again) due to the lower spin on the fade shots. Did't notice the fade basis claim, I can still easily hit a fade or draw with 1.5 degrees club face openness. (just always prefer to open the club face)

I finally got my SIM max out yesterday to the Range. Mine is a 9 and 1 click up so 9.75. My miss is typically an over the top slice. Now I have been working on that a fair bit. Yesterdays ball flight was either high and dead straight or a 20 yrd pull.

Here is my thought on this fade bias debate.... could it be that it is more fade bias for those who's setup involves totally grounding the club then gripping? reason being the tail would probably promote a more open face when you lay it on the ground. I recently began to hover a bit because I was so afraid of coming in too steep and putting a dummy mark on a new driver. Now that I'm not as over the top... I have kept a very slight hover which I never did.

Just a thought

No. The fade bias has 2 parts

1. The driver seems to have a CoG that imparts right sidespin (it's why drawers love this head)

2. Face rate of closure seems to lag, leaving the face more open to path than a lot are used to (or for drawers, a face less closed to path)

For those who fade the ball, the driver will impart more right sidespin than most are used to. For faders, a more open face to path means more right sidespin just from face angle.

Those who were seeing that hard right miss were getting both of these in the same swing. The swing was the fault in the shot, but the driver exacerbated the fault.
