So do Clubs/irons that non-conform in 2024 go to junk pile and become worthless?

While I agree that the objective data points to the rollback having little to no impact, I highly doubt that the USGA will admit to the rollback failing to meet their goals and revert to the prior regulation (that would simply hurt their credibility with any future rollbacks that they are already targeting).

Ultimately the volume of the groove is not the problem to the club OEMs, it is the edge radius requirement that is so difficult. I am sure that the club OEMs would be ecstatic if they could settle for that to be relaxed.

Thanks for all the awesome comments. I have been eyeing lot of different irons that I can buy in 2024. :) I think i like the Taylor Made tour preferred cb 2014 and I do like the original AP2 710 and Ap2 712. I figure to find a cheap set if I keep my eyes peeled over the next couple years. To be honest. I don't feel like any club out today really has anything to offer against these original Rac LT's/ these things are butter, feel amazing. thin top line and are forgiving for a small head. and I am totally happy with them. They are not officially non conforming so i might still keep my eyes peeled for a cheap set.

I guess my thinking is something like this.. If you are out in 2024 and get a hole in one and shoot the round of your life, I think it would be best if you say you did it with conforming clubs. I know the rule is silly, but I would like to be legit even if its a Sunday round with friends.

I can understand certain clubs lost their technology over years. WE dont use hickory shafts anymore, but there are a chit ton of irons out there in 2024 that will be illegal and it sucks to have perfectly good clubs that go against the rules.

With thatn being said, Im looking forward to getting some Tour Preferred or AP2 ;)
