What to buy for my friend - best combo irons set ?

He wants the best forged combo iron set

Me and 5 of my friends are going to buy a set of forged combo irons for a very good friend for his birthday in december.

He has been talking about getting a set of forged combo irons, with blade like irons in the short irons (8-pw) and forgiving cavity back irons in the long irons.

He's a Mizuno freak, and is pretty sold on a combo of the Mp60 (3-7) and Mp-32 (8-Pw) - but I still think he ought to consider some other possibilities too.

He turns 32 in late december and is a 10 handicapper with a pretty solid iron play. He's dedicated and want's to go further down to single figures.

We would like to surprise him and therefore we are looking at 4 possibilities, and I personally think all 4 are GREAT forged combo iron sets:

MP32 6 - PW

MP60 4 - 5

Utility 3 with a Fuji banzai.

First of all... I think everyone needs more friends like you! Anyways, I voted J33 because they are a great combo set! I have not hit the mp60 or any of the 695 clubs, but I have hit the 32's, the 690's and the J33's. I think your Mizuno set would be really good, but I wanted to give the bridgestones some love. They've got a nice wide sole with tungsten plugs to lower the cg in the long irons and they're a true muscleback 8-p. They're remarkably forgiving too, and they've got the heavy feel of a Mizuno. Anyways, I'm sure your friend will be a fan of any of those combos. As far as mizuno, I think you could get a much cheaper (but just as good) combo set with the mp30/mp37. Hope I helped!

J33's or the Nike Tour ProCombo's. I choose the J33's but the Nike's are sweet too!

Wish I had friends like you! The Bridgestone J33's are the BEST of the bunch. Amazing feel, great sole grinds, and outstanding quality! Go with the J33's for sure.

I voted MP-60/MP-32. They are great looking clubs, nice compact head but despite they play very forgiving. They also feel butter soft as to all Mizunos. If you are buying the best that would be my perosnally choice.
