Upgrade from Callaway X-Forged 18 to Apex Pro Dot 19 irons?

I have been playing X-Forged irons (in Nippon Modus 120 shafts) and really like the set. Now the set has been played for 2+ years and has shown wears and tears, I am looking for a upgrade. Apex Pro Dot irons are in my short list. Has anybody played both and can share the pro and cons of each? Thanks.

Also, I looked at the non-dot Pro version too but the responses from many users seem to be that the 360 cup face technology compromises the distance control and the Dot-version will be a closer/better comparison to X-Forged irons.

I did it and to be honest just play your current set. I think the x forged actually feel better than the dot heads.. Forgiveness is the same

dot heads are tiny. Might as well go straight to some blades

Even though I love the looks of blades I still need some forgiveness that blades typically do not provide.

i have both of it, quite different character. x-forged have better feels and sound, apexpro better at forgiveness. they both have work abilities through ball flight and shot shaping.

I agree with your statement that cup face on the non dot version is really hot and can make distance control difficult. I would go with the dot version for sure if you switch.

i have not played the x forged but am really loving my apex pro dots. I would definitely not get the std apex pros as that cup face is way too jumpy.
