I will beg to differ minus the beg. Agree with everything you said up until 'receivers.' Except for last years TB and one big year R. Moss, and two famous run 10yd crossing route receivers, Brady has pretty much had zilch to throw to. Especially his last two years at NE.  Edit: Forgot Gronk how could I do that. Gonna have to hitch up the wagon and ride it for awhile I guess. 

 

And SF gave up a lot for a totally unproven QB. Hope it works out for both of them but no first rounders in 22/23 seriously hurts.

I'm with ya Q 100% Besides Edelman and Amendola there has not been a solid stable of WR's in New England.  I knew if there was anything that would bring the doc back around here it would be me patting the great TB12 on the back in some fashion. 

 It worked as I knew it would.

The story now of how a popular Tour player's and my paths crossed unexpectedly. Remember I transferred to the nice new big Tyson's Corner Marriott from the Dulles location. I was on the opening team of the hotel. I had my same title of Lead Houseman. Myself and my team of 4 set up and tore down the tables and chairs, risers, dance floors, sound systems and stages of all the banquets, business meetings, and other events held at the hotel. I was a member of the Catering dept.

 

 

 

 

Tour Player guy and I met right here for the first time. The entryway to the hotel.

After a long laborious day turning the ballroom from a wedding with 200 guests into a classroom formation (set for 125) needed for a business conference the next morning I am closing up shop on a Sunday evening. I am doing the final paper work in the catering dept. office  and have maybe 20 minutes until my shift is over. Over my radio comes a call from the front desk manager, "LP we have a Kemper player checking in right now and we do not have a bellman on duty. I thought you might help us out because you are the golfer guy of the hotel?"

Commish knew he had to assist. I found some second wind. Marriott (DC Area their world headquarters) had an agreement with the Tour during the Kemper Open each year. The two properties, the Bethesda Marriott and my hotel were the official hotels of the tournament. I damp clothed my uniform and twisted up the spikes fresh and headed to the front door of the hotel. I wondered who might it be? Maybe a large name or maybe even the Shark or Freddie !!!! It didn't matter though who it was really. I felt proud to be representing the newest Marriott and guests must receive the proper greeting was my mindset.  I knew back then in my early twenties that providing excellent service with great attitude came to me naturally and it was busy work that I enjoyed. Your boy can't sit still. I went to the bellman's office and grabbed a bell cart. Out the electric double glass doors I flew. In front of me was a white station wagon that was adorned with the Kemper Open Official Vehicle decals on the doors. Inside was an man and a woman and a baby. The back of the station wagon was filled with a ton of luggage and of course a Tour Staff bag. They had plenty of cargo. 

 

"Hello I am Lawrence . Good evening Mr. Stadler and a warm welcome to the DC area for our popular Kemper Open golf tournament.  I am sure you will find your stay here to be a delight as the hotel is brand new."  

 

The baby was kicking and starting to shriek. The Walrus gave me a nod to show some acknowledgement that he had heard my sincere speech. It was not much and it was forced for sure, I believe a side eye glare might have been tossed my way as well. Kind of a cut the s*** glad I'm here crap boy sneer.     😯     I believe the Tour travel life for Craig Stadler that now involved taking the wife and the baby in tote had him grumpy as f88k.

 

I loaded all the bags on the bell cart and then the man says, he has the golf bag.  

 

 

I parked the car and then met them by the elevator with their bags. Not the Walrus's staff bag though of course. For those were the sticks of either the leading money winner on Tour at that time, or second then for sure behind Tom Kite.

 

Up to a suite I headed with Mr. and Mrs. Craig Stadler and their baby.
