“The” Cleveland classic

Hello,

 

Does anyone know what model this Cleveland Classic is? I have searched the internet and cannot find anything really like it. Most of the Cleveland's I have seen have the model where this one has one looks like a date stamp.  The name plate looks more similar to some Mcgregors I have seen.  

 

If anyone has any input I would be glad to hear.

My hunch is this is a custom made driver for someone, possibly a professional.

It's the insert that was used in the TC15 models, but the shape looks much shallower. i used a TC15 driver all through my college golf career.

From what I remember left-handed models of Cleveland Classic persimmon drivers had the swept back soleplate. The right-handed models had the butterfly soleplate. But the 1982 RC-693 was an exception. It was a right-handed model with a swept back soleplate. Cleveland might have used the swept back on other special right-handed models but I'm not positive.

I have one that also says "The Cleveland Classic" .  It is right handed and has a Hogan Apex #5 shaft which has been in it since the late 1980's when I picked it up.
