Low Compression Surlyn offerings and comparisons

So I finally figured out that I'm the type (and age) of golfer who plays best with the newer surlyn low compression balls out there.

With my 85ish mph driver swing speed, I truly benefit (distance-wise) from the forgiveness and low spin of these types of golf balls. Worth noting that I'm an extremely high-launch/high-spin player.

Right now, I'm driving the ball fairly straight ... with about 210-220 carry ... playing the new Callaway SuperSoft golf ball.  Don't mind the limited green-check-up with this ball - I actually prefer the nice roll-out that I get with ALL clubs with the SuperSoft.

As an obsessive tinkerer though, one thing I'd like to glean more information on .. is how the major brands' offerings in this segment, stack up against each other.

The big name and big budget golf ball tests/comparisons don't even consider these types of balls for their studies/research.

I really like the SuperSoft ... but it's the first and only  surlyn low-compression ball that I've tried.

So if ANYONE has any head to head info / comparisons on Callaway SuperSoft, Srixon SoftFeel, Titleist TourSoft, Bridgestone E series or Taylor Made Soft Response, etc etc ... post your findings here.

For me the go-to in that category is the W/S Duo. Fantastic ball and great price. The new Hammer Control from Top Flite is an excellent value as well. Personally, I never liked the Supersoft. It felt too bouncy for me, especially into firmer greens. Rollout is one thing, bouncing way off the back is another.

I was a fan of the Bridgestone E6 for years. I've used the E12 Speed some this fall and have had good results. With things moving colder in these parts I may see what the E12 Soft is all about.

I wish Bridgestone hadn't changed that e6 and split it off into two separate balls. I loved that thing. The E12 Soft didn't impress me.

I think you are mixing categories with SuperSoft (2 piece soft) with 3 piece ones with surlyn and urethane. For the SuperSoft type of ball, I never like them or the Duo as they are too mushy. I like the Soft Feel or TM BurnerSoft as they are firmer (60 compression) and feels better.

shot my best round ever with a top flite hammer control. I've played noodle easy straight, callaway super soft, wilson duo, srixon soft feel, pinnacle soft, all sorts of those types of balls. I found that it's pretty much about which one suits your preference for feel and performance seems roughly the same. I wish I had a repeatable enough swing that I could tell the true performance of the various balls.

I've tried all of the below....

I group them this way (others may disagree) in terms of similar performance.

Group 1

Maxfli Softfli

Wilson Duo (Soft)

Pinnacle Soft

Callaway SuperSoft

Group 2

Srixon Soft Feel

Titleist TrueFeel

Bridgestone e6 (2pc version)

Group 3

TaylorMade Soft Response

Bridgestone E12

Titleist TourSoft

Srixon Q-star

I've never played the TreoSoft, Fix, Burner Soft, D2 Feel, 50 Elite, etc....

Note: I'm not the biggest fan of any of the Group 1 Balls...My favorites on the list are the Toursoft, TruFeel, Soft Feel, and the old e6 (The e12 has not performed well for me to date (shorter than old e6...don't know why).

Regards

Have to suggest trying Wilson Staff duo Professional model. 60 compression with a lot more stopping power, and usually very discounted.

I love the supersoft, but as someone mentioned, I get a lot of shots rolling through and off the green with them. If you could swing the price the Chrome Soft is probably perfect for you.
