Ping Eye 2 plus with Apex shafts

Just wondered if anyone has paired up these epic heads and shafts ?

 

Also does anyone know what the closest match is for Apex shafts now,maybe Kbs tour?

The closest match to the Apex steel shaft is probably going to be Dynalite Gold, but they aren't made anymore either. There might be some on Ebay, though.

And never tried that head/shaft combo, but I do have a set of BeCu Zings with AMT Tour white. The shafts are powder-coated black and look amazing with the copper heads.

Assuming you are referring to the real deal Apex shafts as used by the Hogan company when they were still associated with "the man," I agree with drumdude96 and say Dynalite.  In modern times one of the heavier XP shafts in taper tip maybe.

Holy smokes, I am in the process of switching out old rusty 1986 shafts w Mr. Hogans # 3 shafts into my eye 2`s ...bought edge irons off of flea bay ...pro shop said since i hit that ole 7 iron 136 so i would be better served going with # 3 versus the 4`s i was about to buy...will keep all posted

No disrespect to Cwebb but I don't think TT-Lite are a good match.  Dynalite or XP has a lower bend point like Apex.  TT-Lite is really stiff too.  You can use them of course, but I'd soft step a time or two if you do.

They're not exactly the same as either of them, but there's not a shaft available that I'm aware of that is.

 

Another option is to go down in flex on the original KBS tour.  If you were looking to match an Apex 4, I'd try an 'S' flex soft-stepped twice or an R+

Good point.  I looked them up on the Hireko DSFI archived data and it looks like the TT-Lite in an 'S' soft-stepped twice or even an 'R' flex would be the decent matches to an Apex 4

TT-Lite is oldskool stiff.  Modern shafts are MUCH softer label for label.  The Ping ZZ-Lite, which are know for being stiff, are in the same ballpark as TT-Lite.

 

Any flex you want...as long as it's STIFF.

I agree. The original APEX shaft was a TT Dynalite, taper tip. You will have to check to see if the Ping hosels were reamed to .370 from taper.
