Bad scores and changing ones attitude

My wife, who is a genius, told me “instead of only being happy when you’re playing good and getting mad because you’re playing bad maybe try and learn how to be happy when you’re playing bad? You’d probably play bad less.”

My lowest round this winter (October 2020 to April 2021) was in the high 60s (lowest competitive was 70 twice) and my highest score was in the mid 80s 

 

Thats a 16 shot range and I'm 2.3 handicap

 

Dustin Johnson lowest score in 2020 was 60, he also shot a 76, 78 (2), 80 (2)

 

DJ had a 20 shot and he is prolly +8 handicap (Traveling and Competitive Rounds only)

 

If you wanna get better ... you have to realize that irrational to think you are going to shoot the same score every time you peg it 

 

Golf is not as mental as people make it out to be for Golfers who shoot above 75 ... Take a deep breath and smile more

 

You're problems are more technical

It's really hard to think rationally and fix any type of problem when you're angry. Keeping calm and in control is a key to playing well.

Anger, or frustration? Not liking something and believing it will get better, is different from believing it must get better. Why does it have to get better? Why not just deal with it and be okay with the downs? There will be ups, but some situations are going to be what they want it to be. Dealing with it is the key, especially just accepting it. The best approach is to find the most positive approach, whatever that may be. Improving will only be so much. Expecting too much is the obvious problem.
