Anyone game Mavrik SZ? Picked up one for no real good reason from CPO because I’m a driver ho🙄

Saw a deal at CPO, so of course I jumped on it. Didn’t need a driver, but that’s never stopped me before.😂 I used to game Epic Flash SZ and I liked it. I hit bombs, but it wasn’t the most forgiving driver I’ve ever had. The B21 I play now is a fairway finder. But it’s definitely shorter than other drivers I’ve had in the past. Straight is good though. Anyways, I grabbed a Mavrik SZ with a Graphite Design XC shaft for 250. Figured it was just about worth it for the shaft alone. Anyone game the Epic and the Mavrik? Any differences? Better? Worse? Same? Thanks!!

Just now, iNeedMoreGolf said:

I have standard mav and i love it... i probably could hit sub zero but it does seem a tad more punishing as far as left and right misses. I wouldny say im a driver ho but i have 5 from the past 6 years or so... is that hoey?

Yes. Yes it is😂

  • 2 weeks later...

I play a Rogue SZ which is pretty similar. With the bigger weight in back I find it plenty forgiving.

Paradym TD 10.5/Tensei Blue 65R

TM BRNR Mini 13.5

Callaway Rogue Max D 3 wood

Paradym 4 hybrid

Srixon ZX5 / ZX7 on MMT 125S

Srixon Z785 AW

Cleveland RTX6 54/58

Cleveland Huntington Beach Soft 11S

I played a TS3 right before the Mavrik SZ kicked it out the bag. Look was comparable, sound to me was a lil nicer, and had slightly faster ball speed numbers (2-3 mph max). But what really sold me was how far it still went when I put my signature heel flare on it... I found it to be surprisingly forgiving. I have my little brother (who's also 3-4 hdcp) looking for one on CPO as well, lol.

I currently play one and I'm really impressed with it.  I frequently play with the same couple of buddies and between the 3 of us, we buy and try basically every driver before reselling.  The mavrik sz is the longest and fastest one I've hit in the last several years.  It's still kinda shocking to see how fast the ball leaves the face.

I just got it and played a round and a range session so far with it. I definitely like it. Sounds great and the ball whistles coming off the face. Very hot. I’m not sure about the XC shaft, but I’ll keep working with it. I’m having better results with my Velocore so far

I don't change drivers much, but I picked up the Mavrik Sub Zero 9 degree with Aldila 70x after testing drivers including Epic LS, TSi3, Sim2 and G425.  Coming from the TM M3 440cc, the SZ is longer and more forgiving.  Sounds better as well.  I got the best numbers with the SZ and so far it has translated on course.  Very happy I made the switch.

Went for a fitting last fall to replace my 913D2.

Tried Titleist offerings, TM, Callaway.

Tried both versions of Mavrik.

The Mavrik SZ was clear winner for me in terms of feel and and overall performance, just edging out the regular Mavrik.

Love mine.  Distance gains are real, feel is great, sound is great --- ended up with regular Mavrik 3w and 5w as well and the 5w is probably my favorite club in the bag - so easy to hit.
