So I know most of you will say I should of got fitted but I didn’t lol. And purchased through EBay a Ventus black 6x for my g400 driver after reading reallyyyy good things about it and seeing it used by all the recent winners on tour (Phil, Rory, etc) anybody who plays it let me know your experience with it!! Pumped to get it in a few days!

I guess I would qualify as someone who has had some success with the Ventus line and a little bit of experience with them.

For me, whether it’s placebo or not, they just want to go straight. I prefer the one piece feel of the black as it gives me more of a confident feeling over the ball. This season is, by far, the best I’ve ever driven the golf ball. The stability in the shafts filters through the entire line. The red is incredibly stable and straight hitting as well. They’re not the lowest launching or lowest spinning shafts I’ve ever played, but they are the most consistent and most playable. At the end of the round all that matters is how good your misses were.

Exactly all I want is something to give me a little tighter dispersion and from what I’m hearing they definitely help with that 👍

I got fitted for driver last January at True Spec but the fitter never brought out any of the Ventus line and I really didnt know to ask for them at the time. I was fitted into Ping G410 LST with an Accra TZ5 65 M5 and I do enjoy the combo but it still eats at me thinking that one of the Ventus would be better. That's purely just speculation based on it's use on tour but I do find it odd that I never got to try it.

Yep, with Black, Blue or Red, dispersion thanks to "Velocore" will be lower than many other new shafts.

I didn't go with Black because I am older, and Black doesn't offer a 5 series.  If they offered it I'd buy one.  Too my surprise, 5 series has made me a happy camper.  It's nothing like I thought.  The Red Profile is very similar to Black, ultra-stiff handle, stiff tip as opposed to Blacks ultra-stiff handle and ultra-stiff Black tip.  Blue just doesn't fit my hitter style.

I have every confidence you will benefit from Ventus Black.  Just make sure it has Velocore in small letters near the tip of the shaft.

Yessir! I got mine from certified dealer on eBay has there been any history of fakes with this shaft yet? I know they’re pretty new yet especially the black line

No fakes that I am aware of.  When I referenced Velocore text it's because Fujikura makes Ventus shafts for OEM equipment companies to offer as a stock option, but no Velocore in the shaft.  I am sure they play very different.

Yup I did the reading about that and made sure it was the “velocore” and not the stocks for the SIM

Bumping this topic because I don't want to start yet another ventus thread lol.

So im pretty set on getting a Ventus Black to try out. I want to try something lighter than high 70 gram range and 45 inch playing length, as I'm currently playing 44". So 6x Ventus Black it is, then I see a 6tx as a option.

What's the difference between regular Ventus Black 6x vs the tour only 6tx? I'm assuming torque would be slightly lower, maybe making it play more stiff/stable? Just curious!

I'm coming from a DI, Rogue Silver 125 msi, Oban Tour Ltd.  Ventus black and blue are both more accurate than any three I mentioned.  The Ventus line is great in terms of feel.

If I remember right, the torque is slightly lower and the tip plays a little stiffer than the x.  You can always tip the x more to play like the tx.

I previously gamed the Ventus Blue 6 and decided to switch to the Black 6 to try and lower the launch a bit.  Couldn't be happier.  The Blue was an awesome shaft but for me it was launching a little too high and spinning a bit too much, so I was leaving some distance on the tee.  Plugged in the Ventus Black in my SIM driver and it's a rocker launcher.  Saw immediate distance gains due to optimizing launch/spin.  I'm hitting parts of the fairway I've not seen before.  These are hands down the best shafts on the market.

As I understand it, the 6TX is tipped 2 inches and in such a way that it can play like the 6X in longer lengths. That was the explanation around why Phil is using it.

I’ve got a 7X tipped 1.25” in my 0811X. Really like it so far. Great feel. Still tempted to try the 6TX in a 46” Epic Speed LS TD though. I don’t love how long back to front my 0811X is.
