What an experience it is! I played here in May of 2018 and am going back in August/September. 

 

I think I spent about $300 in the pro shop after the round.

When I was there early May, the Green wasn't too fast either. The caddie said, they normally won't punch the green in the spring, but for the upcoming US Am later this summer, they did that this year, and those young guns will entertain some crazy speed over the tournament in August. This might be the reason why the green hasn't been its best yet. While the slope still kills us while we play.

Glad you got to play there, it is one great place to play. I was lucky to play there many times.

Jealous...was supposed to play last year but didn't get to go because of Covid.

 

Was supposed to go this August, but I changed jobs and my connection was through work.  Playing Oakmont was the only reason I could come up with to keep that job.

Definitely should've held on for another year!

 

Oakmont is an amazing place. It was on my pipe-dream-that'll-never-happen bucket list (along with Augusta, Pine Valley, Shinnecock, Cypress, etc) and then by sheer luck I met someone who was a member and was invited to play. Not that I have hope for the others, but you never know who you're going to meet and what connections they have.
