Shoulder tilt

Bit the bullet and decided to seek a local instructor as my game has been suffering lately.

 

Instructor noticed my shoulders were not working correctly.  They were turning too level.

And arms were lifting independently.  There were a number of other issues this was causing later that I wont get into right now.

 

Instructor showed swing video of me vs pro, and light bulb finally turned on.  I was so flat and pro had tons of shoulder tilt.

 

He got me working on tilting the shoulders (in fact exaggerating that move as much as possible so I can feel the difference). 

Left shoulder is feeling like its going down towards the ball. 

This seemed incredible extreme for me.  

 

Let me tell you, this was the best money I ever spent.  

 

My irons sound very crisp now.  (this move is also keeping me very centered)

Everything feels so much easier now and contact is so much better.

 

My driver was my worst club in the bag.   Instructor still wanted me get the shoulders to tilt even with driver.

I immediately started hitting my driver much better.  I mean just after a couple of swings I was already swinging tons better than before.

 

So just passing this along, in case SHOULDER TILT may be something missing from your swing.

How the body moves with the correct tilts goes along way to keeping the arms roughly in check without a lot of effort, for sure. Good luck with the continued improvement!

Proper tilts in the backswing does not mean it's stack and tilt.

The inclined plane is the plane between the base of the neck and the ball. If his shoulders, left arm, shaft and club face were on the inclined plane he could go at the ball hard with no shoulder wobble to find the ball.
