Feedback/question on policing BST rules

I've apparently got a bad habit of failing to search up and delete my aged "For Sale" posts before starting a new one. I've had successive suspensions over this, and I take responsibility for breaking the rules whether intentionally (never) or accidentally (too often). 

 

Here's my question. In each case where I've posted a new For Sale ad without deleting the old one, the response from the mods has been near-instant. This suggests that there's a system in place that notifies the mods when a member has posted more than one For Sale ad. 

 

If that capability exists, wouldn't it make sense to use it to prevent a member from accidentally doubling up? This would save the mods time and save the members from unintended consequences. 

 

Seems easy enough, and more friendly to the membership. Maybe I'm missing a good reason why this wouldn't work or is undesirable. Otherwise, it would be a nice modification for the community.

Not sure whether there is a search function for the MODS ONLY for this sort of thing or if there are 1 or more mods dedicated to that forum and/or they keep a list of members who seem to have a propensity to violate the rules.

 

Anywho, going forward, here's a suggestion (given how the board's search presently works).

 

Since you can NOT search by "author" without a search argument (word/phrase), you can't find all your own threads in a specific forum.

 

So, get into the habit of ENDING (or starting if you like) each listing with a key word you wouldn't use in an "ordinary" post; your username leaps to mind.

 

Then, when thinking of opening a new thread, search for your "key word" in the BST section, sort by date, and scroll through to see if there are any existing threads in BST.

Thanks. I’m no expert in how board software works. It just seems like it would be super easy to set up a routine that prevents (or at least warns) you against posting in that forum when you already have an active ad. The board already blocks people who aren’t eligible to post there.

There is no modification to prevent duplicate new posts in bst. It’s very easy for users to track their own content. 
 

 

 

Search your own topics to find what is active in the forum. It’s covered in the how to post as its same menu as mobile.
