Motore x vs RDX blue

So my Sim2 driver has developed a rattle in the head and I need to send it back to get it replaced.  I’m thinking, in today’s shipping world, that this could take a good while.  Like a dummy, I sold my backup driver.  So I’m planning on picking up a relatively inexpensive used driver, and then I will sell it and not lose too much (if anything at all), once my Sim2 is returned. Used Cobra Rad speeds are available at reasonable prices with good stock shafts so I’ll probably go that route.  I’ve been wanting to try the Motore x shafts as well as the RDX blue so I’m looking to get one of those.  Right now, in my Sim, I’m using either a tensei pro orange or evenflow cb.  I’m not committed to cb shafts, these are just what I’m using now.  I’m not completely in love with either of these two shafts so if I get lucky, and like whatever shaft I get in the Cobra, perhaps I use it in my sim when it is returned.

I believe the best fit for me is the Motore x f3.  I’m on the slower side (100ish mph driver ss).  My tempo is also very smooth and a very moderate loader.  4.8 hcp. I can have a hard time feeling the shaft load with stouter profiled shafts and while it doesn’t hurt the results terribly, I do prefer to be able to feel the shaft load and also kick.

Is the RDX blue super stiff/boardy?  I haven’t hit all of the Hzrdus line but have never enjoyed the ones I have used.  They felt boardy and unresponsive and just not a good fit for my swing.  That has me leaning towards the Motore x f3.  The f1 also is enticing, but I think the f3 will be stable enough for me and I do like a slightly active feel that is a little easier to load.   Has anyone hit all 3 shafts and have opinions? Is the RDX similar to the previous generations of Hzrdus and not a great fit for smooth/moderate swing types?  Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

I have both the Motore X F3 and the RDX Blue for my Radspeed XB, and am around the same driver swing speed as you. I like them both, but they're very different shafts.

You'll feel a lot of bend in the handle of the X F3. It's probably a great profile for a smooth tempo swinger. You'll definitely feel it loading, and feel the kick coming all the way from up by your hands.

The RDX Blue isn't stiff and boardy by any means. But it does have a much stiffer butt and a softer middle, so you'll feel a strong kick coming from lower in the shaft. It's counterbalanced, and I find that I can play a slightly heavier weight in the head of my Radspeed XB with the RDX Blue vs. with the X F3. For comparison's sake, I had the HZRDUS Yellow before and think the RDX Blue feels softer -- but that's just a current shaft vs. my memory of one I don't have anymore, so take that for what it's worth.

Neither are low-launching shafts, but the X F3 launches higher for me.

Based on what you've described you're looking for in terms of feel, it seems like the X F3 would be a good one for you to try, as long as it fits what you're looking for in terms of launch.

I'm playing the RDX Blue right now and really enjoying it, I haven't tried the Motore but I can give some more thoughts on the RDX. It's not boardy but I'd say it's definitely stout especially with a very stiff butt section. I also play the Tensei Orange Pro in my Hybrid and I'd say that's a bit more boardy to me but I'm playing different weights and flexes in those.

I like you wasn't a fan of older HZRDUS shafts but I think these RDX are different but still may be too much if you're not a fan of the Tensei Orange.

I wouldn’t say I’m not a fan of the tensei oranges so much as I just am not in love with it.  I’ve gamed it quite a bit, with good results, just not in love with it or anything.  Thank you for info, it definitely helps!

Great feedback, I appreciate it.  I’m leaning towards the f3.

Gotcha, I tend to lean towards very butt stiff shafts so that's why the RDX works very well for me and the Motore X would probably be the opposite for me.

I have the RDX blue in my Sim2, 6.0 in a 60 gram,  I find it plays a bit soft IMO.  I have at times pounded this thing, but the dispersion is not what I would like, probably should have a 6.0 in a 70 gram or a 6.5 in the 60.   I came from playing as Ping 425 (and 410 before that) LST with a Tensei CK orange in an X, and it is a telephone pole compared to the RDX blue 60 in stiff. I play the same orange shaft in my 3 wood, but in stiff, probably a much better profile for me than the X....

But the profile of the RDX blue is probably even better for me, longer swing, smooth tempo.....  in the right combo of flex/weight/length I think it could really be my shaft.

I was fit into the RDX smoke black in a TSi2... it was good but does feel a touch firm.  But I recently stumbled on the RDX blue and put it in my Sim Max and I have to say, this is one of the best feeling shafts I have ever played.  I am absolutely loving it.  Feels nothing like the black to me... any of that boardiness or firmness is non existent.  It does feel stable, but very nice at impact, almost soft to me.  I dont know the Motore but I cant say enough good about the RDX Blue.  The launch is beautiful and the ball just seems to drive forward hard.  FWIW, I also put an Evenflow Riptide CB 70 6.0 in my 410 LST and so far, it doesn't feel as nice but man, dispersion seems to be fantastic.  For an $80 shaft from ebay, I am really happy with it.

This thread is right up my alley.  I am on the fence between the F3 and RDX blue for my fairway woods.  I play the Diamana TB in my driver so I am familiar with the "blue board" feel which I would assume would be similar in the RDX blue.  Jomaddy, my swing characteristics sound very similar to yours.  The F3 seems like a nice overall profile that is active yet stable and Fujikura has spent some time perfecting this new Motore line so I would think it is very legit.  Decisions decisions................
