Forum Rules

Is there a listing of general forum rules anywhere?   They may be right in front of my face and I am just not seeing them (my wife says I do that looking in the refrigerator all the time).  🙂

 

I was suspended last week for make "a political post".  I remember the post in question, but do not recall putting anything political in it.  When I went back to re-read the post, it had been deleted.  So now I am unsure if I accidentally put something political in the post even though it was not my intent, or whether it was pretty benign and I just happened to catch a moderator having a bad day.  Further, I was suspended from posting for a week so I was unable to ask the question immediately after it happened.

 

Also, I now have "lifetime demerit" against my account or something like that.  What does that even mean?  Is there an appeal process or is the forum a pure dictatorship? If you get enough black marks on your report card, I suppose you get a longer or permanent suspension of your account?  I'm guessing this is a privately held forum?  If it is, his/her forum, his/her rules, I get it.  Still, it would be nice to know the basic rules before deciding whether to participate on the website in the future.

I do not moderate the board. But, as sent in your warning notes, swearing, even if filtered, is not allowed and criticizing administrations would be considered political. 
 

Also, per the notes, it was not your first warning.

I don't recall criticizing the administration, but since my post was immediately deleted, I did not have the opportunity to go back and re-read the post, or the opportunity to edit it. 

 

It doesn't matter though, I've been on this forum for over a decade, but a lot has changed nearly everywhere in recent years.  It's pretty clear I need to move along to another forum.

Oh come on now, lets be adults about this, I'm sorry but the idea that you "don't recall" being political is quite silly, your post was literally as political as it gets - and included cursing to boot.

 

I don't know if you've *actually* been around here for over a decade - since you only have 137 posts - but if you've been here that long then you should know the rules by now. We put "NO POLITICS" in an average of 84 posts a month - roughly - so you'll forgive me if I dont believe that this would surprise you.
