Bandon in a day as a Single

I have a last minute trip to Portland in June. I have some free time and can spend an entire day at Bandon on June 16 and want to play two rounds to make the effort worth it. I have been to Bandon once before. I'm on a waitlist for lodging (June 15) but also have something reserved in the town of Bandon. My question is about tee times. Right now as a non-guest there is slim pickings on the 16th and nothing that would get me two rounds in one day. In your experiences, do tee times open up within 21 or 30 day windows? How hard would it be for a single to get two rounds in at the last minute? My priority would be sheep ranch plus anything else. Thanks for your help.

Once you get close to the free cancellation window there's a decent chance that stuff will open up.

Ok thanks jvincent. So my strategy might be keep bugging reservations for now and see if something opens up for a double round and pay the "premium" non-resort rate (when did they start that?). Or if I'm in the 21 day window I just pay the regular non-resort rate.

Agree.  Keep calling, and as long as you aren't choosy on which course you'll play for the morning round you should be good. 

 

Keep in mind you've got a lot more daylight in June than now (sunset isn't until almost 9), so you could easily start around 9 or even 10 and still have time for two rounds.

Even if you can’t book your first choices, most likely the can get you on the day of. Good luck.

The person I booked through said that in addition to the "Covid surge" of reservations, they are seeing a ton of "covid cancellations" - or people who ambitiously booked for groups of 16 and then end up dropping down to only 8. 

 

I bet OP will get off the waitlist.

Thanks everyone. I'm the type that likes to plan things out way in advance but this makes me feel more confident about finding something near the end.
