This annoys me about golfers....

This is fine. 
 

Going on and on about WHY they hit that shot fat is not.

That’s not isolated. That’s after EVERY bad shot, or good shot they’ll tell you all about. It is crazy annoying once you start realizing it.

Funny, but new to the thread and I was about to post something about this.  More than the oops I made a crappy swing comments the guys that bug me are the ones it’s NEVER their fault.  

Crappy tee box…foot slipped.  
What a terrible bounce off that tree.

Gust of wind knocked it down into the bunker.

Why is the green so soft there…was playing for some release…and hit it perfectly.

That putt never breaks that way.

 

 

Guy shoots 97 and thinks he hit every shot flush.

Guy I play with hits lots of trees and always, always, “That tree cost me 50 yards!!”

Golf is a humbling game that will expose your weaknesses .  Most other sports or skills you can generally blend in if you are bad.  The4th chair trumpet player blends in with the band.  The 2nd string small foward can just get the ball and pass it around and only shoot an easy layup or open shot.  Even singles tennis players can say their opponent was better and that is why they lost, even if they were having a bad day.

 

Golf is right out in front of you, and you usually have 3 people watching you.  I am a 4 index and on our hard par 3 yesterday I cold shanked one.  I am better than I used to be, but I still said "what the hell was that David?".  It was not a meltdown, but it was a horrible, horrible swing.  I was playing with people I know, and we all have those, so no big deal.

 

The point is that golf can make someone look like a fool.  The inherent demographic of golfers is a lot of people who have been successful in other areas of life, and rarely look like a fool by chunking 3 in a row and then skulling a 60 degree into the parking lot.  Human nature will make people not want others to look and them like hacks, and try an provide an explanation.
