Just because they're not blasting the info out there to everyone doesn't mean they're restricting access to it. And they have reasons for not making it too easy, as has been discussed.

I am not particularly "bugged" about this. What I am "bugged about" is people who claim that the data that I would like to see is readily available. I am not going to ask the head pro or the handicap committee on a daily basis for the PCC's on the 9 courses at our club. And I have no idea among the several thousand members with handicaps at our club who played where on a given day.

Okay, do I get to be "bugged about" people who feel like something that's publicly available isn't publicly available? I'm starting to think my example above wasn't as much of an exaggeration from what you want as I initially thought it was.

If it was a big enough deal, your club could email or print it off daily.

The simple fact is… you're probably one of only a tiny group of people who care about seeing the daily PCC.

You certainly don't need my permission to be bugged about anything.

I would speculate that I am the ONLY person interested in analyzing the publicly available (but difficult to acquire) data the way I think that I would do it.

I'd note here, if some ambitious data-head really had the time and the motivation, and if they could get daily lists of all scores posted for one or more courses, and daily list of PCCs for those courses, they could potentially back-engineer the PCC algorithms for themselves.

Thought folks might find this interesting. Just got my first PCC of +3. It was this past Friday which was the 2nd day of our 2 day league championship. We had only 8 players so it is unlikely our scores alone drove the PCC.

Conditions were very difficult. The wind was blowing 20+ mph with frequent gusts over 30. I had a good day (74) shooting only ~3 over my index. Most of the rest of our group struggled, but not all. I'm sure the rest of the folks playing that day did not play well.

The course has water on 15 of 18 holes. In that kind of wind, it would all be pretty much in play. I also think the course difficulty is a little underrated, but that is just my opinion.
