PXG takes the piss in Australia. GEN 4 T available in US with upgraded Steelfiber shafts for equivalent of $2100 AUD. Shaft upgrade not even available here and we have to pay $3500AUD for DG, KB or Elevate. bullxxxx business model

I'm waiting to see what the 0311 drivers at $299USD retail for here..  I'm guessing close to $999 (or $1500 if you buy through a custom fitter).

Where did you get your prices from Dave?  Can we buy PXG anywhere except pureform/coolclubs/golfbox?

Most manufacturers do, I barely buy local anymore. Golfbox has some good specials on clothes and accessories, but with a bit of effort clubs can usually be found at a substantial discount elsewhere even including shipping.

 

And what's with this absurd Australian rule that Titleist and Ping prices can't be advertised?

This, honestly, does my head in. I do an enquiry and an email later, suddenly I have the price... what difference does it make but for the muck-around. 

 

I'd love it if I could go direct to the manufacturer in Australia and order direct off their website like you can in the USA (Callaway, for example).

Any news on this? Was looking for some good discount for PXG but there is no option for Australia. They have APAC in their website but doesn't seem to allow shipping to Australia!

I've just bitten the bullet on a set of Gen3 used clubs.

It is really frustrating seeing PXG's whole 'direct to consumer' business model totally trashed by middle-party markups in Australia.

Surely there is a market for a PXG Australia direct to consumer arrangement?  The latest deals see far better spec'd gen 5 irons coming in for less than 50% of what we'd pay in Aus

Bit of a late response, but I've bought numerous PXG clubs direct from PXG and had them shipped to Australia.

 

You'll need a mail forwarder (I use MYUS.com) but shipping and duty is usually under $200 for a set.

 

Even cheaper is using the PXG eBay store and buying slightly used.

 

Again you'll need a mail forwarder and means of paying with a US addressed credit card or Paypal account, but they are pretty easy to organise.

 

My current set of 4-GW Gen3s with Steelfiber shafts cost me $750 landed.
