What to expect: dormant bermuda greens with no overseed in PHX?

A course I play often (Seville), a mid tier  "invited" (club corp) private is not overseeding their greens this year.  Apparently to cut down on the potential for a disease that has been going around (no...not Covid).  Anybody played on dormant bermuda in the valley?  What can be expected.  Seville actually has some of the better conditioned greens during prime time so Im curious what to expect.

Should be fast and firm. They might throw some dye down to make them appear green. Overall should be fine.

This; the one downside or thing that sometimes happens is if there is some a🕳️ that kicks, scrapes, clubs the green in anger, the green can't recover like when in season and the mark stays there.  Also, depending on watering/water on, there can be some 'muddy' spots.

 

I get a few rounds there, I will be interested to see what happens.  It actually makes sense if you think about it.  It comes down to perception.

Im hopeful that it is actually going to play fast and firm.  That would be awesome.  I know Pinehurst #2 has not overseeded for years now, and just paints the greens.  I have not played during the winter there, but by all accounts the surfaces are fantastic.  the "look" of the course is not highly relevant to me.  Apparently the cost to maintain them dormant is comparable to the cost of overseeding (Dye, etc), at least according to the club.

In my area (the Southeast), I'm not aware of any courses that overseed bermuda greens. 

 

As others have mentioned they'll tend to be a little firmer and faster since the grass won't be growing (which is a good thing). The biggest downside is that ball marks and similar things won't repair themselves until the grass starts growing again in the spring. However, as long as people take care of the course that shouldn't be much of an issue.
