Two 18 hole courses plus a 10 hole lighted short course. Slated to open Spring 2023. Only 10-15 min away from me. Can't wait to play these.

I inquired about it and they said they would have pricing at the start of 2023.

In other words, if you have to ask how much you probably cannot afford it.

I'm sure it'll be $$$, and locals who aren't members likely have to stay at the Omni Resort to play....just a guess

Paradym 9.5

Rogue ST Max HL 3wd (really a 4wd)

Apex Pro 21 3 & 4

Apex 21 Mixed Combo Set 5-A

Jaws 5 54* C-grind

PM Grind 2.0  58*

Odyssey Exo Mini 7s

It sucks that they keep moving these big events further away from the action in Dallas. The locals haven't shown up since they moved it south and north. Now the new venue is even further away.

The Byron sold out this past year. Not as many people as Las Colinas, but the creek and grounds at Craig Ranch are pretty prohibitive. Feels packed inside the gates.

Really interested to see how the whole "membership" thing works. I was under the impression that the HQ was going to be mostly public play at a high price (kind of like Pebble Beach, anyone can play it's just $300+ a round you gotta cough up). Basically, charge a high enough price to keep the rift raft out but it's technically open 6 or 7 days a week to anyone who wants to play

I know there's "hybrid" public courses like Cowboys Club and Four Seasons so it will be interested to see which of the 2 will be closer to what the PGA will be

Cowboys club isn't a very aggressive membership. It basically grants you 2 priority tee times per month and allows you to use the practice facility at no charge. Basically, makes it your home course but allows others to play since it's not like you're playing 5 days a week.

Four Seasons is more aggressive so I'm wondering if that's what the PGA HQ will be, it's more of a semi-private vibe. Members get full priority access any day of the week. Public play you either have to buy a weekday only tee time (i'm assuming afternoon only especially during peak season) or you have to stay at the resort and buy a hotel + golf package

Let us know what they say. I'm curious how much of a membership perk it's going to be in terms of what it offers (answer will determine if it's truly a public course with some membership perks like cowboys club or if it's essentially a semi-private course like four seasons where almost all of the play is members and resort guest only)

I'm assuming due to the prestige and the amount of money their spending on the resort that it will be more like four seasons. Technically "public" since anyone can stay the resort (plus they will sell some weekday only tee times at less desirable times) but it will have more of a "semi private" vibe

I also wonder if they will differentiate the East vs West in terms of bookings and prestige. Like for example the East course they will be more aggressive  in terms of resort/members only where the West course will be more of the "anyone can book weekday tee times online"

Would think it would operate pretty similarly to Tpc San Antonio with regards to a resort having two courses and one being a tournament course.

Pretty excited for this place to open up, regardless.

Given it's a PGA course, find out what will be the worst scenario.  Then present it to a meeting of the brass, someone will say "hold my beer", and come back with an even worse idea.

Because not only does the non-profit status shield from taxes on all the money they bring in, it also shields anyone from accountability.

If one were to write a curriculum for a course on what not to do with a golf property, I'm not sure you would need to go beyond PGA Village to cover all the material.

Just got an email with the membership info...

130K to join and 1k a month.  Frisco residents get a 10k discount on the membership.

I got the email as well and was really confused about that part. You pay for a membership but can only book once a week but still play everyday, assuming they have an opening? Some of the nearby clubcorp looking like a bargain 😂

I think the other on-site amenities will be really nice, but I'm guessing it'll be 5+ hour rounds on a packed course.

The membership pricing on this is straight up psychotic. I dont know what the hell the are thinking. $130k for two semi private resort courses.

They look like well conditioned muni’s in the video. this will be an unpopular opinion but the Gil Hanse/Coore and Crenshaw schtick is getting a little played out. They are all starting to look the same. It’s like parkland courses got very popular in the 80’s annd 90’s sk they decided to come around rip all trees out of the earth, add a lot of sand and some large mounding for insane amounts of money. In 20 years everyone will be trying to add trees to all these courses in the next architectural flavor of the week.

Wait, what?

This the PGAoA's circular logic at work.  writ:  "We're the PGA of America.  We have an idea.  It's a great idea, because we're the PGA of America.  So people will pay accordingly, and pay they will, in droves, because, we're the PGA of America."

Oh, and "The PGA Championship will/has be/been play(ed) here, there this course is much better than the others who haven't, so, yeah, that too."

The resort pricing is looking pretty nuts too. The 4 bedroom "ranch houses" are $3500 per night, and then you've got whatever the greens fees are going to be on top of that...

That's over $1500 more per night than comparable lodging at Bandon Dunes or Sand Valley...
