Sqairz golf shoes.

Recommended Posts

Curious what people think about Sqairz shoes. How they fit, durability, comfort, overall thoughts and impressions.
Long Time Footjoy DNA/Tour X/Tour Alpha user but found the Tour Alpha’s fit a bit strange on the toe box. Interested in the Sqairz because I like the idea snug heel, arch but a wider toe, instead of a wide shoe that fits loose.

haven’t seen much written on them other than sponsored reviews and I tend to take those with a grain of salt considering.

Got a pair this season, even though I said I'd never buy these (Speed - White/Silver).  Got 38 rounds on them - mostly walking.  I also have an arthritic right toe and slightly wider foot.  They were comfortable right out of the box.  No heel slippage either.  They were easy on my toe too.  It took a few rounds to get used to the square toe, but I don't even notice it now.  Forefoot is wide-ish, but not sloppy.

As far as durability - the soles held up very well.  I replaced the spikes (not really needed, but start the new year with new spikes).  The rest of the sole hardly looks like I used them at all.  The uppers look really good with the white staying white and very little crease marks.  I clean the shoe uppers every round, so that helps.  The inners also held up.  This was the first pair of shoes in decades where I didn't rip up the heel area.

I actually just ordered a 2nd pair for next year and beyond.  I wear a 10.5 or a 10W in most everything else and wear a 10 in the Sqairz.  I never did find the extra yardage they claimed.  I've given up on FJ as they are screwing around with the lasts and I can never find one I like the fit of.

...I think you will like Sqairz then. I have the Arrows in the 9.5 and I think they fit on the larger side but they hold my foot well, with a snug heel and plenty of toe room. The heel is higher than my Adidas Boost 2 BOAs so the dried grass is kept off my socks.

These shoes have definitely grown on me after 2 rounds and 4 range sessions on mats. First round I had the 20/20s and last round I had the Arrows. Walking was comfortable, zero issues with traction or climbing the grassy embankments or soft soil etc. No blisters or pressure points. My skin around my feet is pretty bad so its very sensitive to blisters and I am not even wearing thick socks either, just my VoxxGolf socks which are thin.

What I like about them is the stability. Yes, its true - these are the most stable shoes I have owned (Adidas, Puma, Footjoys, G/Fore etc). My setup feels super stable now and I don't feel like my right heel slips anymore at impact. I just enjoy the extra width now that these shoes provide.

What I don't like and the reason I stayed away from Sqairz was the price. New at $200 a pop is a bit rich. My price for shoes are no more than $100, may be max at $125. However, thanks to the Deal or No Deal sub-forum here, I picked up my first pair of the original 20/20 and then Arrow. I just stocked up on 2 more Arrows coming from GlobalGolf.

All up, I am happy to pick these up pre-owned from GlobalGolf and 3Balls for 1/2 the price or more than the price of the new.

Sqairz are definitely going to replace the 4 Boost BOAs that served me well for many years.

Hope this helps

My experience is identical to that of Socrates.  They pretty much exactly match your wish list.

I have the Speed model and just ordered another of them.  Like SwingBlues, I had bought a returns pair of the Arrow model from RockBottomGolf at a great price.  But I had to return them.  The top of the heel is formed of light padding over a fairly tough rubbery molding, which gave me blisters on both feet.

The Speed model has much better padding there.  SwingBlues likes his Arrows, so YMMV.

I tried hard to stay with high end Footjoys, but they don’t have the roomy forefoot I need.

I agree with @Socratesand @Snowman9000.  Bought my first pair on a recommendation from a friend last winter.  I have Plantar Fasciitis and generally f'd up feet from 3+ decades caddying.  Comfortable right out of the box and never looked back.  I now have 2 pair of Speedz.  Great underfoot padding, roomy toe box, with no heel slippage.  When you first put them on, they feel heavier than usual, but after the first round I couldn't notice the weight anymore.  Shoestrings have these silicone nubs that keep them from coming untied.

I played 3 times a week all year long (until recently due to health) and wear them every round.  No durability issues.

I normally wear a 12E sneaker.  Their sizing calculator put me in an 11.5.  I was skeptical, but it was dead on.

Make the switch and you won't regret it.  Caveat......They forgot to ship the distance gains with mine.  Oh well, the comfort made up for that.  Haha.

My wear marks on my Boost BOAs are all on the back heel. Thanks to Amazon, the wear holes are patched.

My 3rd pair of Black Arrow arrived yesterday so i tossed them into the car this morning to play Wilson GC in Los Angeles. Walked the course which was somewhat hilly. Tee boxes were crappy & sandy. Zero, zero issues with grip. Super comfortable all day.

Eventhough this pair was "3rd" grading, they look brand new.

Somewhat impressed how all 3 Sqairz shoes are consistent sizing & feel. The older Boost BOAs had slight variations in sizing. I recall when they were new, some pairs gave me heel blisters until they wore in. Some pairs didn't.

I'll pick up some preowned Speed when they have 9.5 available

Great 👍  shoes 4 me

If anyone is curious what the white/gray Speeds would look like with black laces.  I like it.  It’s not for everyone, I’m sure.

I was thinking about ordering the mesh ones as they would probably be lighter. I have foot drop, and have to wear AFO braces which fit OK inside my current golf shoes, Ecco which are very light, but not wide.. I was hoping the square design would help me keep my balance better. Any thoughts on the mesh version?

 Edit:

I ordered and received the  Sqairz Speeds in the mesh version. Right out of the box they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Plus they are just as light as my Eccos. The big plus for me with the foot drop is they give me the stability I was hoping for, I wear AFO braces which slide down inside perfectly. I can finally stand without swaying or losing my balance. The extra challenge I have had besides already having foot drop is that I had a stroke last summer, so I hope that brings into focus just how much I appreciate the new improvement in stability and balance they give me, yet they are still very comfortable to wear. For those who think the $ isn't worth it or they are just hype, how did they work for you when you tried them? 😊

For many years I enjoyed Ecco Worldclass, but their price grew ridiculous for the shoe.  I will pay $500-$700 for Ferragamo dress shoes, but not golf shoes.

Switched to Sqairz about a year back, and quite happy.  I walk 18 when conditions allow, in addition to play 1–2 times a week and 3 multi-week golf trips on them, so they have a lot of miles on them, and you couldn't tell.  They are very solidly made, excellent support for my knees and aggressive swing mechanics, worth $230ish price.

However, has anyone discovered the extra yardage they boast about in advertising. I haven't.  LOL

I haven't found the yardage either.  Although I am out with OJ looking for the killer.  It might take a while.🙄

Got my first pair about year and half ago.

Comfortable from first time I put them on, still very comfortable, and still as waterproof as day bought them.

I've encouraged 3 others I regularly golf with to try them.....each one has said how glad they did, and comment on comfort, stability and waterproof durability.

I've worn pretty much every premium golf shoe ever made, Sqairz are the best I can remember....free spike replacement is a nice perk, and the silicone dotted shoelaces stay tied all the time.

It's not really free.  You have to pay the shipping and it's a lot to Canada.  That's my only beef with the shoes (have 2 pair).

Can anyone comment on these in terms of added height? I need shoes that are close to the ground, added height exacerbates my need for longer clubs.
Ive been looking at Truelinkswear with minimal or zero drop.
thanks.

They would be similar to a normal spiked golf shoe.  Very similar to Puma or FJ spike shoes.  Not as much as the older Adidas Tour 360.

They aren't a light weight shoe.  Not designed to be.  Not heavy either.  Solid construction that won't blow apart after 20 rounds like many lightweight shoes.  I'm well into year 2 with my first pair and still in great condition - inside and out.

Anyone buy these used? Seems to be a good value, but, it's weird using someone elses shoes.

I can't see buying a used pair unless they are something that has gone out of production and you've just got to get them.
