Wedge fitting ON GRASS in Phx Metro?

I have a wedge fitting scheduled with Ping at Keirland in a couple of weeks, but I am starting to have 2nd thoughts about locking myself into one brand especially since others like vokey seem to have more bounce\grind options etc. Furthermore, I am coming out of PM Grind wedges, and as close as ping comes to that is the eye2 which I am not a fan of. I love ping and I am sure they would do a great job and fit me into some good stuff, but wondering what my other options are? I am not interested in doing an indoor fitting at all - I want to hit real balls onto a real green from real grass out of real lies - preferably dirt\gravel\rocks since that's usually where I find my ball 🤣😏

That's right...i just saw an ad on IG.   I also think I saw Truespec doing something out at Raven too?

Thanks for this - I called them up and they said you can hit full wedge shots at the normal range and use chipping green, but no tweener where you can hit like 70yd shots into a real green or whatever. 

 

Also for anyone else that ever stumbles across this, callaway offers a wedge specific fitting at troon north for $200. 

 

I think I will do the Ping fit regardless. It's free and no obligation to buy. If I don't leave with a spec I am in love with I can start throwing $$ at other options. 

 

Kinda surprised there isn't something already well known in scottsdale of all places in the country.

I’ve seen that titleist is now charging for  spots at demo days/team titleist events, $100 for your spot where it used to just be sign up and reserve a spot

True Spec has a truck at Raven all winter (maybe fall and spring too, not sure exactly). They are in an area dedicated to them and lessons (with short game area), so I would imagine you can hit 70 yd shots into it, space permitting. The range itself also has "greens" with flags; not sure how they compare to real greens, but at any outdoor fitting you'll be hitting range balls so you're not going to get the same numbers you normally would anyway. 

 

I did a full bag fitting there about a year ago just for a check-up and thought they were very good to work work and didn't try to push anything, just made some recommendations.
