Slow SS, need spin and launch help

Hi, I've hit my 40s with a bad shoulder and a torn up wrist. Swing speed is way down. I was gaming KBS $-Taper Lites in Cobra Forges Tecs. I love how tight they are, but I can't get any height or spin out of them anymore.

I love the feel, but hate the flight.

Does anyone know a similar feeling shaft that'll help with spin? I may need lighter and regular.

If you have significant connective tissue issues, move to graphite? Something like a Recoil 95 maybe.

The Forged Tec irons are at least one of the lowest spin/launch models in its class. IMO it’s not at all surprising that you’re seeing the results. Some alternatives towards the other end of the spectrum might be the i210, Apex DCB, or the new 923HL.

I have a tear in my right thumb/wrist which rob my hand speed. I'm truly all body right now. Oddly my golf swing doesn't hurt at all.

it's really all about swing speed. Lighter certainly may help gain a bit of speed back - but it's not guaranteed - so test it out before committing. Going lighter could also cost you some consistency and dispersion - so - another reason to test things out first.

There are always exceptions but flex or stiffness typically wont play that big of a part - so stick to whatever feels good in terms of stiffness. You can always bend the lofts weaker to help with launch and spin.
