Got Flagged Twice for Dual Post in Classifieds

So, I posted a driver listing in the classified, then someone bought just the shaft, so I posted a new listing for just the head. This got flagged, and I understand why. The system showed me as having two open listings. The second listing was deleted. Fair enough.

But then I followed the instructions to "Lock" the original listing and then create my new listing. So I did that and just got flagged a second time. 

 

Any suggestions (and, not incidentally, why is there no way to simply delete discussion posts?).

Once an ad is closed, you must wait 24 hours before starting a new one.  Additionally, any previous items in past ads cannot be re-listed for 30 days.

Your own ? Or others ?

 

You can certainly edit/erase (can't delete) your own posts but you certainly can't edit other member's.

My own. It's strange that there's no mechanism for simply deleting your own previous posts.

The older board allowed it.

 

Wondered that myself but apparently the best you can do it edit it and erase everything in it.

It's a violation of BST rules to delete or remove the contents of your ad. We'll know if you deleted or edited your ad.  

 

DO NOT DELETE THE CONTENT OF YOUR LISTING WHEN YOU SELL AN ITEM OR CLOSE THE LISTING. Closed listings will be moved to the BST Archive Forum for future reference. You may, however, delete the photograph attachments to listings as well as the listed For Sale price if a different price has been mutually agreed to.

OK. Good to know, although that wasn't what I was suggesting. In any case, if you have any advice about my original post, I'd appreciate it.

How do you lock an ad?

What happens if you do delete it?

You’ll receive a warning, if you have previous warnings, your posting privileges maybe suspended for a period of time.

You have to wait 24 hours after closing an ad to start another one. Also as Buzzkill replied to you earlier, you can't re-list an item until 30 days past the start date of the original ad.  

Your warnings that you get state what the violation is.

so locking an ad is the same as closing an ad--I have an older ad that I want to close--is locking the same as closing--I locked it--need to know if that is the same as closing it.

So in this instance, a club is for sale and someone offers to buy just the shaft. Offer is reasonable so seller now has a single head to sell. He was selling a club but now just the head. Under the rules here that is considered the same item?

Yes, the head is considered the same item and you have to wait 30 days to relist.
