Totally agree on kupcho. Thought she was goin to be a S. Pettersen type killer but she ended up more Lexi like then anything. Tough exterior but mentally needs work.

Not saying Women’s golf is boring but this event isn’t that great anymore. It needs work. Somehow it needs to get the Asians into it. And someday , who knows , this may have to happen to the Ryder Cup if the Asian men start being the best players in the world. Ryder Cup had to allow all of Europe to compete to make it work was huge tweak and it paid off.

I disagree about the Solheim Cup, still love it.

 

However, you bring up an idea I’ve contemplated for a few years. Is it feasible to do a 3 team competition format? Organize the world into three sections, maybe: 1. The America’s, 2. Europe/Middle East/Africa, and 3. Asia/Australia. This could either replace the Solheim Cup or could be an off year alternative.

Interesting opinion.

 

My opinion is that the Solheim isn't about having the best female golfers in the world, its simply a contest between the best female golfers from US and Europe.

 

It's my favourite women's golf event, the Ryder cup is my favourite male golfer's event....and I'm neither American or European.

 

You've got the Olympics and the International Crown for global inclusion.

 

The Solheim works great as it is right now, fantastic atmosphere and history, it doesn't need change imo.

That's what the International Crown is for! 👑 I prefer that event over the Solheim myself and I'm not a fan of the Ryder Cup. I wish they went back to singles format on the final day of the Crown though.

Hope RZ can live up to the hype....cause it is way over the top.  From writers saying she has an "intangible star quality" and do for a big moment (not sure I see star quality quite yet...maybe college kid quality having fun) to the Golf Channel saying no one in women's golf has had a better year than RZ (anyone heard of Lilia Vu).  I do hope she takes down whoever she faces.  A big ole meany Euro vet would be fun to see lose to RZ.😂

Just in. It’s the PGA Tour’s fault for the Solheim Cup’s media problem. Sad reach of the real problem of Women’s golf issue.

Sitting here watching the Opening Ceremonies. The Venue is not even half full, there are so many empty seats and it's not a big place.

 

The dresses for the European team are hideous. They look like wrinkled bed sheets with a belt. The dresses for the Americans aren't very flattering either.

 

Let's hope the actual competition is more exciting !!!!!!!!!!
