Andrea is having a Yealimi esque start to her season. Right now I'd put Cheyenne Knight in the squad!

Yes, Cheyenne and Angel Yin have the hot hand the last couple weeks.  Now…can they keep it going?
I'm really surprised Andrea has dropped off so much this year.  Thought after finally breaking through with a win (and 5 other top 10s) that she would keep it going this year.  Golf is hard!

Hopefully the match play event she can turn it around where she kick started last season with a SF run .. to put in perspective how bad her season is, she's behind Annie in the CME despite playing +2 no cut events! -_-

The EU looks so strong, it's almost an unfair contest.

Sweden, The United Kingdom and Continental Europe could form three separate teams and each can beat the USA handily.

Especially this year with the event staged in Europe.

The current Euro standings don't even have Anna Nordvist with a place (she'll get a captain's pick if she doesn't qualify in the 8 imo).

How many captain's picks are there? Rose Zhang must be one.

3 Captain's picks.

What are you talking about? The US has 3 in the top 7. Euro doesn't start until #9 with Hull.

Thats cool, but how do our 6,7,8 players stack up to theirs? Our highly ranked US team lost to lower seeded Thailand, Georgia Hall is having a better season than any American, sans Vu + now BOTH Kordas are ailing 😞

Solheim cup is still 3.5 months away so hopefully Vu and Korda will recover in time to play some golf. Regarding the loss to Thailand, it is just 1 tournament with 4 players. Thailand got hot at the right time.

I think it will be competitive, just the additions to the European team are  stronger than ours, mainly Grant + Stark, although Rose will be a much needed boon to the team, let's hope.

Rose will probably be on 2024's team not this one even if she wins another lpga event this year there are still to many players that would need to be passed on in order to pick her.

the team as it stands now, according to the proj, isn't really omitting anyone of importance.  the remaining captains picks should be used to who is playing the best leading up .. would you rather take Salas or O'Toole over Rose? not me.  just pick the best players, seniority means little coming off an L on home soil!

That’s the whole idea of captain’s picks: pick players who are playing well at the time of the competition regardless of how many points they’ve earned.  It allows for a rookie to make the team even though only having a few months to earn points, or a veteran player who goes on a hot streak 1-2 months before the competition.

Exactly why it's tough to argue Rose not being on the team.  I agree to give the remaining players to whomever is "hot", since there is little difference at this point, i.e yealimi last edition coming off 3rd in a major while making cuts. She finished w the best winning pct as well but was used the bare minimum. Coach Patty hold this L. Seems like ages ago!
