I can comment here, I was playing a Tour issue TM M5 driver with a JDM Diamana B-Series 60S in it for quite awhile. I've always loved the shape of the M5 driver, so I haven't really dabbled into newer driver releases until recently, since performance was fine with it. I picked up a Bridgestone B1 9.5 with a Speeder Blue NX 60S in it, and have played approx 2 rounds.... I got a knee injury last month that's gonna make me have to take some rest before I can play again.

my typical stats: 110-112 swing speed, miss is a hook, I have a pretty decent + AOA so i don't really spin the ball alot but launch it pretty high. My favorite types of drivers are usually lower loft (8-8.5*) with a mid/high launch shaft in it. I fit into X flex shafts typically, but usually I go stiff flex with a touch of tipping in it as a happy medium.

I don't have quad/trackman numbers on this driver just yet, these are just visual observations from playing the same courses with both drivers, I live in Las Vegas NV, and typically play: Chimera, Arroyo, Revere and sometimes i'll throw Bears Best in there (if you're familiar with those courses).

Visual appearance (to me), is that the 9.5 looks a touch closed to my eye in standard loft. I have it lofted down 2 clicks on the B-stone sleeve, and its square (to me)  at address.

It's much more metallic sounding at impact than the M5 im used to, which has more of a wooden baseball bat sound to it. My first round with this driver was at Chimera Golf club, played at 6500 yards or so, ended up shooting 75, and hit all but 1 fairway. This course is the one I struggle with the most (from hitting a fairway standpoint), so this was surprising (for me). I'd say from a driving aspect, It's probably 5 yards longer on carry distance alone from what I typically would have expected having played the course quite a bit. It was definitely longer overall on places I typically hit my second shot from. Usually i try to work my M5 which can get me in trouble, im assuming based of flight and feel that the M5 just spins more than this driver does. With the B1 I just stepped up and tried to hit it as hard as I could with pretty good results, I never felt like it was going to miss super left (which is what I fear the most). I also think the Speeder has something to do with it, as after hitting it vs the B-series which I'm used to, I prefer much more.

If you've been interested in this driver you've probably seen all the same youtube videos I have. My main fear was the spin aspect of this driver, but after my best driving day in probably 3 months, this will be in my bag over the M5 which i'll be listing shortly.

I know this review isn't scientific, but I hope it helps as I searched this forum looking for similar answers myself 🙂

Nice write up, thanks!

Looking forward to hitting it.
