Question for Scotty fans

need some help from some of you Scotty fans, I have attached below 2 pics of my Scotty, I apoligize for not being very computor savey but these are the best I could do. My question is in regards to the sole markings, I can only find these markings on the 2012 Black Mist series and this putter is polished silver as you can see. The 2015 and 2015 newports have a long red line coming from the top of the two red bars and running between the block SCOTTY CAMERON and the word SELECT, this putter is marked as if it is from the 2012 Black series. Does anyone have any knowledge of this putter or can direct me on how to gather info? Like I said I am not that gifted when it comes to my computor skills and am very curious about this putters origins, on the Scotty website this putter with these markings is no where to be found, thanks for indulging me and I would appreciate any input what so ever on the putter, have a great day and thanks in advance, FF

A face photo would help but it looks like someone just stripped the black off. Not that uncommon to do as the finish was prone to wearing over time. Since that putter also has heavier weights than normal it wouldn't be surprising that is had other aftermarket work.

Could easily have been refinished at some point by someone that didn't like the black finish or maybe it wore or something.

 

But something about the Select and Newport look off to me but hard to compare to Scotty Archive pics due to the angle on the archive.

There should be a serial number just below the grip on the underside of the shaft as well. If you have a long grip on it  then it may not be visible. I had to remove a huge lamkin sink fit to see my serial code on my 2010 Newport two.

I would bet money that it's a 2012/13 Select that has has the black finish removed. Like the other guys have said the black finish didn't wear particularly well. The custom shop could have refinished it but it's more likely that it was a DIY job or sent out to another refinisher for an aftermarket job. It looks authentic to me just with some custom work.

Agreed with everyone above. I have had the 2014 Silver Mist Select Newport and I currently have a 2012 Black Newport. This looks like the 2012 with the black removed.

after calling Scotty Cameron today I tend to agree with you all who have shared this opinion. No way you will get info out of anyone in their cust service, they didn't even want the serial #. They want the putter sent in for verification instead, enough people I trust have looked at it today any all agree it is legit so I see no reason to spend the shipping and authentication $$$. So I am going with a redone 2012/2013 black mist. Again thank you all for chimeing in for me

It looks great to me. I didn’t realize the NP’s from that model didn’t have a sight line on the flange. I had a NP2, but I’m almost certain it did have the sight line. I may go poking around for a black mist NP to strip now…

I believe the 2014 was the last naked Newport. NP2 always had a line.
