Rookie Scotty paintfill question

I know this topic has certainly been covered. But I couldn’t find the exact answer so please forgive me. 
 

I want to remove the paintfill from my super select sight line, I’ve never liked black sight lines. 
 

2 questions regarding this: 1) has anyone done this and can you share pictures? 
 

And 2) how thick/thin is acetone? How careful do I need to be to make sure I only remove the line and not the paint on the sole if it drips or something? This wouldn’t be the end of the world, but really just trying to remove the black line.

2) Acetone is a liquid, not thick at all

Acetone is as thin as water, basically just a strong nail polish remover. Soak a q tip or paper towel with it and then rub over the paint until you get it all out. There's no need to worry about the other paint. You have to agitate it or let it soak for a long time for paint to come off.

You can always go with a gel paint stripper if you’re worried about damaging the paint on the sole.

perfect this is exactly what I was looking for. A lot of the posts I read mentioned soaking the head in acetone which would obviously be an issue.

Just use an old tooth brush and dip it in the acetone.  Scrub the sight lines till no paints left then wipe the putter dry with a paper towel with some acetone on it

I’ve found that with the newer lines the paint is a real pain to remove. Unless you soak it in acetone which I didn’t like to do, go with the gel paint stripper and just let it sit. The paint comes off so much easier and in a much more controlled manner

Gel paint stripper is my choice as well, apply let sit maybe rub with a toothpick or brush depending on what is being removed maybe even reapply. Honestly very little mess, most is just wiping up the gel but that's it.

I use this stuff to strip paint from putters, irons, etc. Dip a qtip in, and smear it around, easy to control

For just a site line a gel stripper is the best option. Citristrip is a good choice.

 

Just use a toothpick to cover the site line in the gel, let it sit overnight, and most of the paint should be floating in it by morning. You can use acetone and a q tip to get out any remaining flecks.

qtip soaked with acetone and dab it into the sightline. let it sit for a few mins and then apply more. Use a toothpick to scrap it out. Then Use more Qtip with acetone if needed to clean up more.

anyone have pictures of a select with the paintfill removed? Surely someone’s done it 👀
